LOOKING FOR THE EXTENDED PART OF THE WILSON FAMILY THAT MY GRANDFATHER WILLIAM WILSON NEVER KEPT IN TOUCH WITH--HE WAS BORN FEB 1900 IN GLASGOW--LIVED AT 21 CLOSEBURN ST SPRINGBURN DURING 1960'S--MOVED THERE FROM 10 TORR ST POSSIL AND ORIGINALLY LAWMOOR ST GORBALS AROUND1940---HIS SISTER BARBARA(NAMED AFTER MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER BARBARA HIGHET) WAS MARRIED TO JOHN WEBSTER AND LIVED AT 21 CLOSEBURN ST ALSO ---MY FATHER TOLD ME THAT MR WEBSTER WAS A MANAGER OF A SWEETIE FACTORY--MY GRAND FATHER ALSO HAD A BROTHER ALEC WHO I AM TOLD PLAYED THE FIDDLE FOR AN ORCHESTRA IN GLASGOW--AND A SISTER ANNIE MY GREAT GRANDFATHER ALSO WILLIAM WILSON BORN IN 1872 LIVED AT LAWMOOR ST OR SOUTH WELLINGTON ST AS IT WAS KNOWN THEN-- MARRIED TO BARBARA HIGHET-- MASTER STONEMASON MY GG GRANDFATHER ALSO WILLIAM WILSON BORN 1851 LIVED AT SOUTHWELLINGTON ST--MARRIED MARY McDUFF-- ALSO MASTER STONEMASON MY GGG GRANDFATHER JOHN WILSON MARRIED TO JANE/JEAN OR JANET MURRAY-- DIFFICULT TO READ ON THE CERTIFICATE ALTHOUGH IT CLEARLY STATES HE WAS A MARKET GARDENER--- JOHN WILSON WOULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN BORN AROUND 1830'S OR SO -- I HAVE SEARCHED EVERYTHING I COULD FIND IN THE MITCHELL AND AT ST ANDREWS HOUSE-- BUT TO NO AVAIL-- ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED |
