teresa,maybe the eugine bit that keeps cropping up is from this infl you just gave me? what do you think,thomases middle name was eugine... a possible brother george eugine was found earlier on here,take a look,what do you think,just a coincidence or more.... maxine |

thanks everyone for all this info.i also tried the www.family search site,i think i could find the answers there but im just not clued up to even know what im doing,it does look like it might have loads of info on millions of familys,worth a try i think,thankyou for all your help,going to see if i can find thomas eugine linstedts parents,thankyou xxx |

found these on the 1880 Census might be worth a look on following Census to see if they are yours - sorry I don't have ancestry. |

Maxine, I think it was quite common for people to anglicize their German sounding names during the war years. Even the royal family did it, changing the German sounding Battenburg to Mountbatten. |

just had a look at www.family search site.not too sure how to use it,typed in linstedt then linstead but wasnt sure how to narrow it all down,will look on there when its quiet in doors and kids are in bed ,ill look on here til then,need to get my bearings when i look on a new site,maxine |

thanks,its the right area and surname just need to match it with thomas,,i wonder why they changed it,it must have been because its a foreign name they must have been worried withe war looming etc,thanks! |
