I am trying to trace my great aunt. Miriam Brown (also known as Minnie) born North Wingfield Derbyshire in 1890.
Miriam's whereabouts are unknown between 1909 and 1920 when she marries my gt uncle.
Address in 1909 - postcard from Alice Brown addressed to Minnie c/o Mrs Allett, Swaithwick Farm, Wingerworth Chesterfield (7 miles from Matlock)
Can anyone please help find Miriam , I have been unable to find the above adress on the 1911 census.
Thank you in anticipation Debra

Have you found her on the l90l - if so, do you have her parent's names and address, may be worth looking for them in l9ll to see if she is with them, perhaps the name has been mistranscribed Liz

It's Swathwick, not Swaithwick.

Clay Cross & Wingerworth are 3.3 miles apart according to Google Maps.
I have reread the post card but there are no further clues other than she is definitely working for Mrs Allett and that she is living there as she has not been home for some weeks.

Hi
There is a Brown family living next door to the Alletts in 1901. Maybe worth a look to see if they are related to Minnie
EDIT just to give a bit more detail on the 1901census info,
The Allett's street address is given as 'Swathwick'. George's occupation is 'Farmer'
Before their entry is a something 'Hall' and before that looks like 'The Barley Mow Inn'.
After their entry comes the Brown family, street address 'Derby Road' ( head of household George Brown, tailor/outfitter ), followed by another entry listed as 'Swathwick' occupied by a farmer.
So it isn't clear which address is Swathwick Farm, unless several farmers are sharing it!
So it seems the Alletts moved to Nether house Farm (1911 census) between 1909 & 1911 but Minnie didn't move with them.

So in 1909 she was in Wingerworth and in 1920 in Scarborough. Most of her siblings from the 1901 census were still with her parents in 1911 except Lily and Alice. Any idea what happened to them? Afraid I'm not much use here as I don't have a sub to 1911 and there are lots of Miriam/Minnie Browns. Been all around the houses via free searches but couldn't view the details to verify anything. Finding Lily & Alice would be useful if only to discount the possibility that she was living with them. Posting the 1901 census here for ref so other people don't have to go looking for it:
Name: Minnie Brown Age: 10 Estimated birth year: abt 1891 Relation: Daughter Father's Name: Henry Mother's Name: Annie Gender: Female Where born: Wingfield, Derbyshire, England Civil parish: Stretton Ecclesiastical parish: Claycross St Bartholomew Town: Woolley County/Island: Derbyshire Country: England Registration district: Chesterfield Sub-registration district: Ashover ED, institution, or vessel: 25 Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 23 Household Members: Name Age Henry Brown 40 Annie Brown 20 Alice Brown 12 Minnie Brown 10 Lily Brown 8 Florence Brown 6 Henry Brown 4 Lenard Brown 3 Rose Brown 9 months George H Cadwell 25
