Thanks for the info. Makes interesting reading if they are his son's John Miles snr would have been 17 having the first???
How much info is on a England / Wales death cert would it be worth purchasing one I never have. The Scottish ones are great you get mother / father and other husbands/ wives. Just curious.

Sorry mary just realised that was also the 1901 census. I must learn to read better lol!!!
It doesn't have her father as deceased on her marriage cert. Her husbands is stated as deceased strange that.

I have a John Miles on the 1881 census FHL Film 1342285 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 5334 Folio 87.
I have John 37 born Cwmavon, Glamorgan, Wales. Head Coal miner with wife Eliza 38 born Brecknock, Wales.
Children William H Miles 10, John Miles 5, Matilda A Miles 5. All scholars all born New Tredegar, Monmouth, England.
Could you possibly find them on any of the other census's for me either side of the 1881 census if possible.
I have Matilda on 1901 census married to a Lewis Jones with their two children Mary 3 and John 1 month. at Margam, Glamorgan. I have their wedding cert and her father is John Miles and she is Matilda Ann so I am sure this is her family I cannot find her birth details as yet.
Would really be gratefull for any information.

I have found the family on 1901 census,but it shows her birthplace as Ireland.

I do not have access to any Irish records,so cannot help with that line of enquiry.

Hello Mary, Thank you for your kind offer of help.

I am searching for any information about my GG granny who was Sarah Keys born in Ireland around 1867.

Her father was Matthew Keys and mother Mary Keys nee St.laurence.

Sarah married Edward McCann 17 April 1891 in St.Johns church, Port Glasgow.

What I would like to know is where she was from in Ireland. Anything would be fantastic. She died in Port Glasgow on 6 Nov 1945.

Mothers Name Frances Tankerd

No mention of Father,so it would seem he was illegitimate..

Could you see if there is any mention of the parents of John Tankard (b. 1812c) married in 1833 to Mary Beaumont (b. c.1811) - their children were Joseph, Maria, William, Cornelius and Richard.
