Hi Mary,Thanks for all the Cawley info you PM'd me, just wondered about the missing Tom Cawley born 1881, 10 year old on the 1891 census you found me.Can you advise me how I would be able to find out what happened to him,as none of the elderly members of family remember an older brother for my grandfather Fred called Tom. Hope you followed all that and that you can help,Thanks. |

Just to ask you Mary, if you can find the Thomas R Cawley on the 1871 census that I saw. I even read the address as 20 Boardman St Oldham. Just to prove to me that I am not going mad !!! |

so sorry Mary, my text was so confusing when I re read it. Both my gt and gt gt grandfathers were Thomas Robertson Cawley, the elder one born in 1821 and the younger one in 1855 and the marriage year I gave you was wrong. I am SO sorry, my head was all over the place last night. I viewed the 1871 census myself on Genes and found a Thomas R Cawley born Ireland and presumed I'd found my family, but I was clearly wrong, and now it looks like I will have to re draft my tree, and never to presume again!! I just dont know how anyone knows for sure which is their family member?? |

Hi Mary, on the 1871 census it says that my gt grandfather Thomas Robertson Cawley c 1821 was born in Ireland, and on the 1901 census he had 7 children ,living in Oldham. He married a Mary A Clough in 1946 in Manchester. Can you find him in 1861 and 1841 please |

Hello Mary, could you do a trace on the 1851 census please? I am looking for Owen Hughes, born 1844 in Amlwch, son of Thomas, and Catherine. He possibly had a brother Hugh, 1850, and sister Rebeccah, 1846. |
