Hi Mary I'm trying to trace Ellen Crompton c1843 Aspull. I've attempted to find her on freeBMD but no luck to isolate her. She married James Parr c1842 Wigan. I'd like to trace the names and dates of her parents and family. Thanks! Ben

Hi again Mary
I now have them both on 1881 Census, and their marriage...i believe..... was 1883 when Mary Jane Leask married a William Stobbart in South Shields. I don't yet have any other children. I haven't got the 1901 Census info but would be interested to have a look. Thanks again for your time Mary.

Hi Mary
Someone else has found this for me which looks likely.
1881 England Census about Jonathan W. Stobbart Name: Jonathan W. Stobbart Age: 20 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1861 Relation: Son Father's Name: Jonathan Mother's Name: Eliza Gender: Male Where born: So Shields, Durham, England
Civil Parish: Westoe County/Island: Durham Country: England
Street address: 34 Dale St Education:
Employment status: View Image Occupation: Letter Carrier (CS)
Registration district: South Shields Sub-registration district: Westoe ED, institution, or vessel: 6a Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Cecelia J. Stobbart 7 Eliza Stobbart 42 Eliza F. Stobbart 2 Emily A. Stobbart 5 James E. Stobbart 11 Jonathan Stobbart 45 Jonathan W. Stobbart 20 Septimus Stobbart 9 Thomas A. Stobbart 4
It seems that it was a William Stobbart who married Mary Leask so perhaps Jonathan used his middle name to marry. My family seem to do that...lol. Remember Alfred How was really George How.

Hi Bumble Bee
I have found the Wilde family on 1871 census.Do you have this info??? I notice that Edward Wilde is a Canal boat Captain. This will make finding further info on him very difficult as they rarely stayed in one place long enough to be counted on census returns, often did not bother to marry or register the births of their children. I cannot find reg nos for any of the children apaert from Emma Wilde June Qtr 1869 Ellesmere 6a 699 (Ellesmere being the Reg Didt for Welshampton which is shown as her birthplace on the census) I have saved the image so PM your email addy if you would like to see it.

Hi Joyce Sorry not really able to help you with this as you need Parish Records because the events took place before 1837 when Civil registration started. I do not have access to any Devon Parish Records.
You will not be able to obtain certificates of any BMDs before Sept 1837.
