Hi Donna I have found the marriage GRO number:
Leslie V Lowthorpe/Lilian A Bowler Dec Qtr 1920 Hastings 2b 38. You must send for the marriage cert to find the name of Lilian's father and her age at marriage as I cannot find a birth for her in the year you gave.
Will look for leslie on the 1901 census. He was born Sept Qtr 1897 Hastings 2b 38.

Hi Jo Itinerant means that they moved around from place to place finding work where they could.Usually they did not stop for long in one place. Which is not very helpful for researching your family.

Hi Ian Are you sure that it is Charles S Richmond not Charles Thomas Richmond. The only Charles Richmond I can find born Bridlington and living in Hull is: Charles Thomas Richmond Dec 1862 Bridlington 9d 279. He married Emma Thompson June Qtr 1880 Sculcoates 9d 202. On 1881 census they are lodging with her parents in sutton Kingston upon Hull. In 1901 they were in Sculcoates,Kingston upon Hull with children; Charles 19;Harry17;George 12;Frank 10 and Kate 8
If this sounds like the correct family I will send full census details.

Hi Ali
Checked out Susan L Richardson on 1901 census on the census image and on the next census page at the same address as Susan is Jemmima E S Richardson age 3 b Tilehurst also a Boarder. I feel 99.9% certain that this is Juanieta(probably too exotic for the enumerator). I looked for Frederick but was not able to ID him, could he have been engaged in the Boer War??

Hi Frances Have had a look at the images for Wyatt family and yes there are anomolies, not helped by the fact that 1841 census is virtually illegible.I cannot read James's occupation and they all give their birth county as Middlesex, but may help to clear up some things.
1841 College Street,St John Hackney,Middx James Wyatt 40 Occupation cannot be read Harriet Wyatt 40 James Wyatt 17 Matilda Wyatt 14 Amelia Wyatt 12 Eliza Wyatt 9 Frederick Wyatt 6 Louisa Wyatt 3 Albert Wyatt 6mths All are shown born Middlesex
1851 Nightingale Place Wanstead,Essex James Wyatt Head Beer shop keeper b Beaminster,Dorset Harriet Wyatt Wife 49 b Suffolk Eliza Wyatt Daur 20 b St Lukes,Middx Louisa Wyatt Daur 12 Scholar b Hackney,Middx Albert Wyatt Son 11 Scholarb Hackney Alfred Wyatt Son 7 b Leyton,Essex Emma Wyatt Daur 5 b Wanstead,Essex
As far as I know there is no such place in Dorset as shown on the transcription which you have. In my opinion the birthplace for James snr should be Beaminster,Dorset.
This shows the importance of looking at the images and not just copying the transcription for a lookup. The Ancestry transcriptions are full of errors, particularly with regard to place names. When I do lookups I aways look at the image,it is so much more accurate than relying on a transcription.
You should treat all info on the IGI with caution as this too is littered with errors. I would advise you to try to get the birth details for James Wyatt from Parish records for Beaminster(if they exist)
Hope this info will help
