On the 1841 there are 2 John Simpsons born 1829/1830 living in Leeds.

1829 is son of James (coal miner) & Esther - collier.
1830 is son of James (architect) & Mary.

What info do you have that he is the son of John & Mary?

Yes they do have a son called randal

Is John married to Ann with Randal, etc the person you are following?

If so, it's more likely he comes from a coal miner's family than an architect's.
