Thats exactly what I was thinking Joan, my nan mentioned that back in them days if the first son died before the 2nd son they named the 2nd son after the 1st son. And South Shields is where he was born and died. I reckon you have found him for me Joan. There is a good chance they got the age wrong. I will order the death certificate and birth certificate but I really think we have him. I am so greatful Joan. As soon as I have the certificates I will let you know if it is him. Your a star x. |

There is a William N. Bell born in South Shields in 1912 but mother's maiden name is given as Nicholson and not Barrass. |

You would have to buy the certificate to find out his father's name, but i don't think the mother would be mentioned on the death certicificate. |

Joan, does it say the place of death for the 3 yr old. |

First and 2nd son could have been named the same. William Norman Bell was definatley born in 1920 as my dad remembers him. However, I wouldnt be suprised if son 1 was called William Norman Bell to. My grandads parents were married in 1912 and it is very possible they had son 1 in the same year. I know 2nd and 3rd son were born after the war and 1st son was dead before 2nd and 3rd son were born. There is a possiblity he could have been 3. Does the 3 yr old come from mother Sarah. |

I know he was 7 as my nan told me, my grandad had told her when he was live but I know he must have died in 1919 / 1920. |
