It does look as if there has been an error on georges baptism. Mother James?
Presumably his mother was born Jones then married a Payne then James Sturge.
The names of the siblings tie in as James Sturge mother was Hannah
May I trouble you further. Would it be possible to look up the marriages for Ann?.

I'm looking for Eliza Baker, born 1811-1812 in Bristol.
She married William Coneybeer (Coneybear/Coneybeare/Conybeer) around 1836. I would really like to find out her parents name.

George Sturge baptised 20/12/1807 born 10th Nov, Father Joseph Mother James. (Jones late Payne)

Hannah baptised 21/10/1804 Father James Mother Ann

James baptised 12/09/1802 Father James Mother Ann

Mary baptised 20/06/1798 Father James Mother Ann

Samuel baptised 25/02/1810 born 10th Jan Father James Mother Ann (Jones late Payne).

These were all the children baptised to joseph and ann or james and ann. All baptised at Frampton Cotterell.

Hi Marcelle,

I do hope you can help me with my brick wall.
I am looking for a baptism of a George Sturge of Framton Cotterell, St Peters. I have been told that he was born to a Joseph and the widow Ann Payne in 1807. Sometime after Ann Payne then married a James Sturge and by 1810 they had a son called Samuel. As I have not seen the record myself I am wondering if the Joseph is in fact James.
I would be very grateful for your help.

The only Henry Henley was baptised 23/09/1796 to a Richard & Elizabeth @ St Michael which is to early for you. I checked Henley & Henly.

Thanks so much for finding my Burges. That's definitely who I was looking for as his wife is Mary and he was a cooper! I thought Mary was his second wife but looks as though they'd been married far longer than I thought (unless he had two wives called Mary).

I checked for Charles Burge and found 2 possibles:

Charles Burge baptised 03/11/1783 @ St Peter Father John Mother Ann

Charles Burge baptised 29/12/1784 @ St Peter Father John Mother Ann

Just a thought but maybe it is the same John & Ann and the first Charles died?

I then searched for any children with the surname Burge and a father Charles.
All the children below had a father Charles and Mother Mary, this was the only Charles Burge.

Charles 13/04/1828 @ St Augustine, Family living at Hanover Street

Thank you ever so much, it's amazing to have come across your look up offer! Mark and Ann Stock from Mangotsfield are my ancestors, and their five children all born on the same day, William, Thomas, Charles, Susannah and Mary. I think the family of Thomas and Mary Stock, with children christened in the 1750s, are also linked, but Mark I guess might be an older child of theirs born before 1754?
It would be great if there was a marriage recorded for Mark and Ann, and any others in Mangotsfield or St James, Bristol would be very interesting too!

Hello Marcelle,

I am looking for the baptism of Charles Burge, b.c. 1786 in Bedminster.

Also of his daughters, Mary Ann (b.c.1816), Caroline (b.c.1821), Ellen (b.c.1827) all in Bedminster I think, and his son another Charles Burge born around 1836, possibly in St.Augustine rather than Bedminster.

Any info would be a big help.
