I had a search for George Hawkins but nothing. Do you have any brothers or sisters of George to go on?

This is what I found. First I checked Nichols. These are all children with parents John and Maria:

Eliza Nichols Father John Mother Maria 05/03/1837 @ Westerleigh

Clara Nichols 17/12/1826 baptised at 4 months @ SS Philip & Jacob. Father a mason

Emma 20/11/1825 @ Westerleigh. Father a labourer

Anne 03/11/1822 @ Westerleigh. Father a labourer

Then checked Nicholls:
Sarah 14/08/1831 @ Westerleigh. Father a labourer
Rosena 14/06/1835 @ SS Philip & Jacob. Father a mason.
Matilda 19/09/1924 @ SS Philip & Jacob. Father a mason
Emma Maria 22/04/1821 @ SS Philip & Jacob. Father a mason
Emma Maria 23.03.1823 SS Philip & Jacob. Father a mason
Alfred Adolphus 22/02/1829 @ SS Philip & Jacob

The only Samuel I could find was Samuel Nicholls 19/01/1834 @ Winterbourne but his father was Samuel Mother Maria.

There was also an Elizabeth 07/11/1830 @ Winterbourne but her father was Samuel Mother Maria.

James Nichols 11/05/1828 @ Winterbourne, again father Samuel Mother Maria. Abode Frenchay

Seems strange that 3 of the children are listed with father as Samuel.

How sure are you with John & Maria's birth

I searched Nichols and found John Nichols & Maria Hemmings married 28/10/1816 @ St George.

I will check under Nicholls in the morning

I had the wrong names. It should have been ..

Samuel Nichols who married Maria Wallace/Wallis

Samuel born c1806 Mangotsfield
Maria born c 1807 Hambrook parents John Wallis and Sarah Lacey

They changed the spelling of Nichols to Nicholls and back every few years.

I have been chasing this family for years and have twice done the wrong line.

The three children you have ( above ) born to Samuel and Maria are mine and I am sure somewhere the others are connected as a lot of the Nichols/Nicholls were masons.

I appreciate I have wasted your time by getting the names wrong but if you could find the marriage and possibly the birth of Samuel Nichols/Nicholls born c1806.

This one seems like yours:

I looked for other children of John and Susannah. They are all baptised in Mangotsfield

Sorry, checked marriages but nothing on discs. John & Susannah are before 1813 so wont be there as disc is 1813 - 1837 for marriages and I cant find Samuel & Maria. If you get any leads come back to me

Samuel Nichols abode Frenchay buried 29/09/1867 : 61 years.

John Nichols abode Mangotsfield buried 03/10/1855 @ 82 years
