Well done for finding the deaths! What if I look at Probate Index next time at Kew (probably Saturday), to see if either left a will and children were mentioned?

Think that these are possible deaths for Edwins parents;
William Livermore age 78 (born 1862) Colchester 1st qtr 1940 vol 4a page 2169
Sarah A Livermore age 83 (born 1858) Colchester 4th qtr 1941 vol 4a page 1309
Dionne You do have the details of Edith Annie Harvey/Livermore?

Hi Ann and Brenda
There really isnt alot to do now.I think we might have come to the ening that I wanted to find of the line as far as Edwin is concerned. I posted a message saying I wanted to find Edwins sisters and their husbands as my dad has a strong 'feeling' with Clacton. Brenda kindly found me the death certificate of Florence.I have ordered that today.I am hoping that the address on the certificate might jog my fathers memory a bit. I havenot been able to trace the other two sisters yet.
Brenda.
That death registration looks promising. The only worry with it is that is says he died in 1953. Bith of his daughters had him down as deceased on their marriage certificates in 1930 and 1938.
I know that I am really clutching at the slightest thing now but would anyone here think that Dorothea and her sister thought there father was dead,or was Dorothea just lieing? Im 50/50 as to order the certificate or not. What do any of you think.Id love some advise please.
Its been bugging me all day that Dorothea, her sister or their mother werenot on Edwins Army records either.Umm!!

Don't know whether you saw my post on here last night. One of the things I said I thought might be a good idea, would be for you to post what you still want to know. Any news today? (Hope so!)

Hi Jennifer,Selena and Brenda.
Jennifer again thanks for your offer of help.
I have read Edwins full servise records and gone through them with a fine toothcomb.
They only say that he was in South Africa no area im afraid. He was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal in 1901. The other thing that I found very interesting was he has his next of kin down as his parents and his three sisters are also named.
There is then a box to fill in particulars of marriage and under this a further box to list children. Would you beleive that both of these boxes have been left blank. Now why would that be?? Strange. He was removerd from the quartermaster!(hard to read the writting) for unsatisfactory conduct on the 17.04.1906.Discharged 1912.
I a member on Ancestry24.A South African site. Its still in its infancy and I have left a few messages re Edwin and his daughters. As for when the Daughters came back over to this country and their ages I am really not sure.
Selena. I am waiting for the birth certificate of the possible brother to Dorothea and I have also written a short leter to a member of his family only sent last week so I have not heard anything yet. Brenda.
I sent of for the death certificate today for Florence. Many thanks for posting the info.

I can't find the bit about Dorothea's possible brother. What was the outcome of that?
Do we know what area Dorothea was living in 1912 onwards?

Thank you Ann.. So.. some suggestions then..
Would it be possible to get........
Edwin/Edwards full Service Record which will tell us his 'postings' so narrow down which Area/Township/State he was in in SA at the time of Dorothea and Constances' conception/births? so there is an idea where to look...
If not.... Is there a Website that list's where his Regiment was during different time frames?.. (I know there is one for the Coldstream Guards..Husbands Gt G/Father).....
Is there a similar Website to this one in SA where a message could be posted asking for help... At the end of last year I did research for a chap in Australia in return he researched my 'convict' Ancestor for me....... I would be willing to do my bit by researching in Cambs, Nthants, Hunts or Lincs if that would help........ And lastly, if Dorothea and Constance came to the UK at 'school age' maybe they were boarded out?, this could be why Dorothea became a bit of a Walter Mitty.. feeling lost and abandoned!!......
Anyone's thoughts please.. Regards, Jennifer
Update....Could also do Norfolk..

Yes, that's right - no marriage for Edwin/Edward in UK, no births for Dorothea or Constance in UK. No death for Edwin/Edward so far.
According to the Army papers I found for him, he served in S Africa up to 29/11/1911, and was discharged from Army 6/5/1912.
Have to go to work now, but couldn't resist looking at this first!

Good Morning Dionne and all..
Have had a sleepless night and have tried to put straight in my mind what information is now needed and still muddled so can someone please help with that...
If I've got it right.. There isn't a Marriage for Edwin/Edward Livermore in the UK?
There are no birth registrations in the UK for Dorothea or her Sister Constance?
There isn't a death registration in the UK for Edwin/Edward Livermore? (so far)
Has anyone narrowed down to an approximate year when Dorothea and Constance were brought to England from SA?
Have got a few idea's but need to clarify the above before putting them forward.. Best wishes, Jennifer

Enjoyed talking to you tonight and thank you for your kind words on here!
Have been going cross-eyed tonight, looking for your family, but sad to report, haven't found anything!
Perhaps it might be a good idea to list what you want to find out about now - it's all very confusing, not knowing where we've all got to!

Death Florence E Bloomfield age 79 Colchester 1st qtr 1966 vol 4a page 756
she would have been born 1886/1887
Florence stayed in the right area - wonder if the address on her death certificate could be checked on the electoral roll for the time that your father stayed in Clacton?

Hi Jennifer. Thankyou for your offer. If you could give me any further advice or ideas on how to find Edwins sisters and their husbands that would be great. I am hoping one of them lived in Clacton to tie up with my dads story. Many thanks Dionne x
