Hi Tracey,
Thanks for your very kind offer. I've lost my ggrandfather after 1901. His name is David Hatelie and he was born in Montreal in c1864. He married Rhoda L Fowler in Devonport, England in 1885 and was a Chief Engineer in the Royal Navy.
I have no idea when he came over to England and can find no death certificates for Rhoda or him and so am wondering if they returned to Canada. If they did they left three children behind and I don't know why they would do this.
I know it's a long shot but if you could see if they're on the 1911 census I would be very grateful and maybe a birth for david?

Ever Hopeful
Liz

Hi,

Have access to Canadian and American Ancestry (well OK.. World Ancestry).. So anyone wanting me to look for ancestors in Census, Birth, death, passengers list or anything, then please post with any info that you do know.

The only Censuses that Canada Ancestry have are..

1851 Census of Canada (East, Canada West, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia only)
1906 Census of Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta only)

(Just noticed from this post apparently 1901 and 1911 are free elsewhere so I won't list it above).
