Hi Tracy,
I am looking for a marriage of Alexander CHIVAS and Margaret DONALDSON both born in Scotland. Their families had immigrated to London Ontario, but I am not sure if that is where they married. I am pretty sure that it was 1912c as their first child was born in Canada in 1914, and US 1920 census shows she was 18 years old when she married (her birth year 1894, confirming 1912 marriage date).
Many thanks for your kind offer

Hi Tracy
I really do not know, wish I did. I am pretty sure that Emma died between 1889 and 1899. I have so little to go on.
It is possible that the Emma on the 1860 census is the right one as the age sounds about right.. Maybe if I could find a marraige certificate things would become clearer-that is assuming that Thomas and Emma were married.
I really appreciate your efforts.

Hi Tracy
I do not know her date of birth, but Thomas was born in 1859 in Kilmarnock Scotland. He remarried in Scotland in 1900, on his death certificate in 1901 Emma Ball is one of two widows named., so maybe she was around the same age as him.
As Lavinia is quite an unusual name I looked up Lavinia Ball on familysearch, as she may have been named after her Granny. There was a Lavina Ball born to Isaac Ball and Sarah Jacobus in Bloomfield Essex New Jersey in 1814. I am trying to find a needle in a haystack, but just maybe-a big maybe Isaac and Sarah are the correct family.
Thanks for your time Joy

Hi Tracy
Thanks for the kind offer. Could you please do a search for me. I will give as much info as I can.
My gr gr grandmother was born in Harrison, Hudson, New Jersey. Name: Lavinia Highet/Lovinia Hyatt Born according to mormon record 20th Nov 1889 Father: Thomas Highet/Hyatt-he was born Kilmarnock Scotland Mother Emma Ball- To family knowledge born in New Jersey
At times Highet was known as Highgate.
Lavinia and her father returned to Scotland in time for 1901 census.
I would also like to find a death for Emma, and marraige cert for Emma and Thomas. This side of my family are proving to be quite a mystery.
Thanks Joy

Hi I wondered if you could find any information on my great uncle. Claude Richard Monckton b1888 Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.
The Times dated Friday 29th 1912 notes his marriage banns to Margaret Thompson married on 8th November 1912 All Saints Parish Church, Edmonton by Reverend Canon Webb.
The last trace I have of him is a piece written in the Times - stated he was married and living in Edmonton Canada. Injured during the war fighting alongside the Canadians unable to attend his mother's funeral due to being in hospital with injuries - mother's funeral was 1919.
I cannot trace him any further no children, divorce or death.
Any little information to get past this brick wall would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time. Miah
