Hello Carol

Is it possible you can do a check for Maurice E Smyth for me, it seems that on Ancestry passenger ships he is indexed as having been on board a ship for California. My friend who only has English ancestry said it was the first name shown when she put it in search list, don't know whether he would be crew or passenger year between 1910-1925 we think.

Thank you
Frances

Hi David

Do you know what Robert's occupation was? There are a couple of possibilites in the 1930 census, though none in Philadelphia itself, he could have moved and the occupation would help to narrow this down, if not, I'll give you the details of the possibilites and you can see what you think.

Hi Carol, get well soon, I am trying to find details about my grand- parents, Robert Campbell and Isabella Ross Campbell, nee Cumming. They were married in Glasgow in 1912, they had a daughter (Violet) in 1913 but were divorced in November 1918.
Robert was born 12 March 1889 at Paricknow, Drymen Stirlingshire, Scotland. Robert had been a police officer in Glasgow but emigrated to USA in 1921,he went to stay with his uncle, Alex Paterson at 5524 Greenway Avenue, Philadelphia on 13 June 1921,he was accommpanied by a lady and two children, but what happened to him after that is a complete mystery. It is believed that Isabella went to the USA in the late 1920s with a sister, either Mary or Ellen, Isabella was born 24 January 1894 at 71 Saltmarket Glasgow, her parents were George and Margaret (Maggie) Cumming, but after that there is complete blank, hoping you can help and back to work soon

Hello, I would be grateful if you could find Solomon & Roseannah Pearson. Solomon was born in Brierley Hill, England in 1862 and they emigrated to Stockdale Pennsylvania in the mid 1880's. Their first child. a daughter was born in England and married a chap named Roy S McKee in U.S.A. I think there were about four more children all born U.S.A I'm told Solomon drowned but I have no idea when or how.
Best wishes and thankyou very much

Hi Margaret

Couldn't find them on the 1870 census in America, but do find them on the 1871 census back in Wales in Aberdare, Caleb is a 32 year old engine fitter born Ireland
Mary, 27 born Bangor
Marian, 9 born Aberdare
Thomas, 6 born America
John, 4 born Aberdare
Mary J, 1, born Aberdare
Living in Aberdare on the 1871 census, from the ages and birthplaces of the children, looks like Caleb and Mary were only in the states a short while.
