Hi Jean This is a long shot because as you say White is a extremely common name! Also i guess we have no real confirmation that she definately died during the two census dates rather than Alex and her got divorced or similar. However dispite this, i did a search for all Annie White's that died in Lancashire between 1871 and 1881, and the following is the only one that was an adult at the time of death (the others are aged between 0 and 3yrs old at time of death)!!
Name: Annie White Estimated Birth Year: abt 1843 Year of Registration: 1875 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at Death: 32 District: Warrington County: Cheshire, Lancashire Volume: 8c Page: 113
This would appear to be Alex and Martha marriage Name: Alexander Garthside White Spouses Name: Martha Archer Sidwell Year of Registration: 1880 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: West Derby County: Lancashire Volume: 8b Page: 590
This looks like Alex and Annies marriage Name: Alexander White Spouses Name:Annie Griffiths Year of Registration: 1863 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Liverpool (1837-1934) County: Lancashire Volume: 8b Page: 267
Hope this helps Ceri

Toni I think you are in luck!!!! This would appear to be George's birth record! Name: George A Perham Year of Registration: 1919 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Mother's Maiden Name: Drake District: West Ham County: Essex, Greater London Volume: 4a Page: 278
This is George's father and mother marriage record! Name: Albert Perham Year of Registration: 1918 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Spouse's Name: Violet E A Drake District: West Ham County: Essex, Greater London Volume: 4a Page: 271
In view of this, George's parents were Albert Perham and Violet E A Drake!
I would say that this is Violet's Birth record. Name: Violet Emily A Drake Year of Registration: 1888 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Romford County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 358
This looks like Albert on the 1891 census with his parents and siblings! 1891 census - household transcription Person: PERHAM, Albert Address: 41, Benges Street, Canning Town, West Ham PERHAM, Charles Head Married M 39 Dock Labourer London PERHAM, Emily Wife Married F 29 Shorditch, London PERHAM, Charles Son Single M 14 Scholar Deptford, Kent PERHAM, Emily Daughter F 13 Scholar, Stratford, Essex PERHAM, Albert Son M 4 Poplar, Essex PERHAM, Rosetta Daughter F 2 Poplar, Essex RG number:RG12 Piece:1318 Folio:133 Page:21 Registration District:West Ham Sub District:West Ham EnumerationDistrict:13 Ecclesiastical Parish:St Lukes
This looks like Albert's birth record!! Name: Albert Perham Year of Registration: 1887 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: Poplar (To 1965) County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 613
Hope this helps Ceri

Hi Joan I dont have access to 1851 census but can confirm that he is definately on it living in Northumberland, his relationship to head of household is an employee, but unfortunately as i do not have full access to the 1851 census this is all it provides me with. I f you contact someone that has ancestry they will be able to look up the full entry for you.
This could be him in 1841 though. 1841 census - household transcription Person: LITTLE, Matthew Address: Broadwood Hall, Low, Allendale, Allendale Town LITTLE, Hannah F 60 Northumberland LITTLE, John M 20 Northumberland LITTLE, Nancey F 15 Northumberland LITTLE, Hannah F 14 Northumberland LITTLE, Matthew M 10 Northumberland LITTLE, Sarah F 9 Northumberland RG number:HO107 Piece:837 Folio:32\64 Page:9 Registration District:Hexham Union Sub District:Allendale Sorry i couldnt be of more help. Hi Ceri, I wondered if William was military. Will check him out next. As for the child, they had 2 sons...so I'm off to see births for Thwaites/Checkett...thank heavens they married after 1911. My James has been found..well the death and a year of him emigrating (1910), plus he had a sister with him then...my money is on Kitty (Catherine) Thank you for your time...given me a kick to get back with my own family stragglers :0))) Hope all's well with you xx

Lulli I believe i have told you before, but my BMD records only start from 1837, as the relatives you are looking for were born in the 1780's the likelyhood is that they were married end of 1700's - very beginning of 1800's. Therefore i will not be able to locate their marriage etc. Sorry Ceri

Hi Jane This is a weird one, this is the only E Thwaites that could be her. Name: Mrs E THWAITES Date of departure: 11 July 1919 Port of departure: Liverpool Passenger destination port: Quebec, Canada Passenger destination: Quebec, Canada Age: (no age shown other than adult) Marital Status: Married Sex: Female Occupation: (none shown) Passenger recorded on: Page 24 of 36 The following person travelled on this voyage with Mrs Thwaites: - Male Child (aged between 1 and 12) THWAITES Page 24 of 36 Ship: MELITA Official Number: 136367 Master's name: Henry Parry Steamship Line: Canadian Pacific Railway Atlantic Steamship Line. Where bound: Montreal, Canada Square feet: 30320 Registered tonnage: 8525 Passengers on voyage: 649 Now, for what is strange about it! firstly no age given for any of the passengers on this voyage other than adult or child! secondly all the passengers on this voyage are all women and children, no men at all! thirdly at the top of the actual page of the passenger list written in pencil, it says 'military dependents'
Is it possible that William got sent to war? or was in the military services at all?
Hope this helps Ceri

Hi Ceri.Ian,
Thank you for the offer, especially since you're so busy.
On the 1871 i have Alexander White 28 Bootcloser (b Manchester) with his wife Annie (Machinist (b Liverpool) and their 3 children aged 5,3 and 8 months, Address at this time was 15 Mather Street Bootle Lancs. On the 1881 i have Alexander (39 (still a Bootcloser)with a wife Martha A (37 (b Liverpool) with 3 children aged 12, 8 and 9 days, address at the time was 6 1 Beau Street Liverpool. Is there any chance of you finding the marriage/death of Annie to Alexander and the marriage of Martha A to Alexander? I know it's a long shot as White is a very common name, but anything you can find would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance Jean

Hi Ian I am trying to trace my grandfather's side of the family but he was orphaned at a young age and we believe he lived with an aunt. I have the death cert for him but no further datails on parents. His name George Albert PERHAM (son of Albert PERHAM nfd) born 21/09/1919. He married a Hazel Joyce Haywood in 1945 (i have certificate) they had one son (my father) Terence Albert PERHAM deceased 24/12/76. The marriage cert has a witness by the name of Bertie Daniel DRAKE (this could be the uncle). Do not have any further details. can you assist? Many thanks

Thank you for looking. Pontardulais is the town given as the place where Samuel Morgan was living prior to leaving Wales. He sailed from Southampton. I think that his wife Margaret may have moved in with her family at Llangyfalach while waiting for Samuel to send for her. I can only assume that she too sailed from Southampton. Just trying to get a complete picture of the family. I know that they eventually settled in Mansfield, Ohio and lived there for many years,
Best regards, Isobel

Elizabeth was born 1894, so would have been 20/1 in 1914, but I think it would have been a little while after that .I dont know that she did travel with William and a child is possible. They married in 1914 in Lancaster., which is why it would have been after that Glad your still with us :0)) Must dash...work calling xx
