Joyce As i explained i have searched the Loughran marriage records from 1943 (at which point you mother would have been 16yrs old and legally allowed to marry) through to 1955!! This is obviously a spread of 12 years, bearing in mind there are 4 qtr's of a year, this is 48 pages of records that i have already searched for you!!
Do you have any idea as to there year of marriage, etc, i will have another look for you but i cannot search every single record for every single year for you, this would take too long
Thanks Ceri

Joyce just been thinking, i have now searched right up until 1965 bearing in mind your father was born 1909, in 1965 he would have been abt 56 yrs old and your mother would have been 48yrs!! I doubt they would have got married after this date! How do you know your mothers maiden name was Ward? Could her marriage to your dad be her second marriage? If so, do you know her previous marriage surname?
There are no Loughran's marrying anyone by the surname of Ward between 1943 and 1965. Is it even possible that they did not marry? Thanks Ceri

Brenda The only thing i can suggest with regards to the difference in Year of births on the marriage cert and census record is that obviously the census's were done quickly and therefore cannot be guaranteed to be 100% correct, people didnt always tell the truth either!! Also bear in mind that depending on when her birthday was you have to allow 1 year either side of 1883 (whether she had had her birthday for the year at the time of the marriage etc)!
I will have a look for her birth record, bear with me a sec! Ceri

Brenda I have searched 1882 - 1884 births for Alice Balmer, there are none at all in 1883 or 1884, but the following for 1882: Alice Jane Balmer - 3rd Qtr 1882 - born Islington, 1b 206 Alice Balmer - 2nd Qtr 1882 - born Wigan, 8c 158
I notice that you keep on spelling it as Bulmer, so i searched this aswell (on the marriage record, she was written as Balmer) the results are as follows: 1882 and 1884 - no Alice's at all and this is the only one for 1883 - Alice Bulmer - 2nd Qtr 1883 - born Selby vol 9c 802
Maybe it will be worth obtaining the birth certificate, I cant remeber did you know what her mother's name was? I know i sent you a possibility for both her parents on 1861 census. Thanks Ceri

Hi Ceri,
I was wondering if I could take you up on your offer. Hopefully it'll just be a quick one. I'm looking for Elizabeth Dunford on the 1861 and 1871 census. Elizabeth was born in 1847 in Bridport, Dorset but on some census she's put Beaminster, Dorset as place of birth. In 1851 she was in Dorset but in 1881 she was in Islington, London, Middlesex and had her age as 26 even though she would have been 34. I have absolutely no idea why except possibly vanity. Hope you can help. Best regards, Emma

Hi Ceri,
Sorry, wrong Elizabeth, my fault I should have mentioned I had her family on both the 1861 and 1871 census and she isn't on either. Her father was Charles Dunford and mother was Rebecca. I thought she may have been a servant somewhere but wasn't sure. thanks again for looking for me though, very much appreciated.

The only other possibility for her in 1871 is the following, however i wouldnt like to say whether either of them is definately her as you will note that the ages are incorrect again!! The one aged 24 on 1871 census are both living with their parents and therefore i take it that they will not be her!

Please could someone find my nans death for me, she was born elizabeth Mabel Jeffries in 1905 (i think) she married my gramp Robert G Marsh in 1926 southampton, now my dad said she died when he was around 15 because he went in the army then to get away and lied about his age, my dad was born in 1927 and his youngest brother was born around 1938, I can find neither her birth or death but then I do not know where she was borne. problem is I have no one to ask anymore thanks Julie

I have searched for Elizabeth Marsh's death between the years 1941 - 1945 and have found the following possibilities!!
Elizabeth Marsh - aged 43 at time of death - Colchester - vol 4a, page 889 - 4th Qtr 1942
Elizabeth M Marsh - aged 39 at time of death - Trowbridge - vol 5a, page 158 - 4th qtr 1943
Elizabeth Marsh - aged 47 - St Helens - vol 8b page 782 - 1st qtr 1944
The other Elizabeth Marsh's between these years are all in their 70's-80's at the time of death, but from what you said i gather that she died late 30's early 40's
Let me know what you think of the above

Hi Ceri
Thanks again for trying for me. The 1861 i'm pretty sure isn't her but the 2 as servants in the 1871 census are definite possibilities. It's hard to tell which one as she changed her age all the time. i'll keep them both on record and hopefully something will come up again in the future and i'll know which one it is thats her.
Thanks again for all your help
Regards, Emma
