Hi Ceri
Hope you've got your feet up!
Thanks for the kind offer for look ups.
I don't have access to Ancestry USA but know details of the passenger I'm looking for.
Could you do a look up please for John Charles Longstaff who travelled from Liverpool on the ship Empire MacCallum to New York in ?1946. He was about 17 years old. Any more info about him would be appreciated.

This is his birth record:

My Passenger lists only go up to 1929 at present so have been unable to find him on them.

Let me know what else you would like

Hi Karen
You have stated that they are both named the same is this correct?
You have also said that Lawrence's father was born about 1870! However you have said that Lawrence himself was a carpenter in 1898! At this point in time his father would have only been 28, which is not old enough to have a child working as a capenter!?
Therefore can you confirm the details again, also could you provide approximate yrs of birth for them both etc.
Thanks
Ceri

Hi Ceri
Thank you for looking up John Charles Longstaff for me but this is not him as his mum is Barbara Stogdale. I appreciate you looking though.
Wonder if you could do a census search in USA for a Thomas Stogdale who went to live in Illinois Chicago in 1923. He sailed on the ship Cedric which left Liverpool. He was 40 then but don't know where he went and whether he stayed in America. He was married to Mary but don't think she went with him. Any info as to his whereabouts would be great. My John Charles apparently was going to stay with Thomas (his Uncle) when he went in 1946 so I know he was alive then.
Thank you again for the kind offer.
Di
Thanks

Hi my name is Sarah and I'm searching my family tree for my grandparents at the moment as they are unable to do it themselves. I'm 16 years old and I'm no good at this, so please can you help me?

There seems to be one family member who is very intreaguing but we know little about him. I began a thread about him under the title 'Ancestor jacamo Merani.'

We know he moved from Italy some tiem in the 1800's and we know he found himself in Liverpool. It would be great if you could help me out as I barely know what I'm doing.

Thanks, Sarah.

By the way, congratulations with your baby :)

Lawrence junior i will not be able to find on a census as he was born after 1891 census was done and unfortunately i dont have access to 1901 census.

Hi Joyce
I have searched Loughran marriage records from 1943 - 1955 and have not found a marriage record for them.

Do you know what year or where James Loughran senior was born at all?
This is James and Margaret's marriage
Marriages Sept Qtr 1902
Dooley Margaret Middlesbro 9d 964
Loughran James Middlesbro' 9d 964

This is Samuel and Frances's marriage
Marraiges March Qtr 1905
THOMPSON Frances Stockton 10a 89
WARD Samuel Stockton 10a 89

The above actual certificates would confirm the fathers for each of them and their age/birth day, which would then enable me to search things like census's etc!

Do you know approximate year of births for any of the above at all?

thanks

Bethany
You will need to look at Parish records for this far back, you can do this by either visiting the local parish or libary or contacting someone that is willing to look up yours for you when they next go!

The records online only go back to 1837.
Sorry
