Thank you for looking. Pontardulais is the town given as the place where Samuel Morgan was living prior to leaving Wales. He sailed from Southampton. I think that his wife Margaret may have moved in with her family at Llangyfalach while waiting for Samuel to send for her. I can only assume that she too sailed from Southampton. Just trying to get a complete picture of the family. I know that they eventually settled in Mansfield, Ohio and lived there for many years,

ps...have found the family on the 1901 census...here comes the spooky bit.....they lived just a couple of streets away from where i am living now.

I am trying to trace my grandfather's side of the family but he was orphaned at a young age and we believe he lived with an aunt. I have the death cert for him but no further datails on parents. His name George Albert PERHAM (son of Albert PERHAM nfd) born 21/09/1919. He married a Hazel Joyce Haywood in 1945 (i have certificate) they had one son (my father) Terence Albert PERHAM deceased 24/12/76. The marriage cert has a witness by the name of Bertie Daniel DRAKE (this could be the uncle). Do not have any further details. can you assist? Many thanks

On the 1871 i have Alexander White 28 Bootcloser (b Manchester) with his wife Annie (Machinist (b Liverpool) and their 3 children aged 5,3 and 8 months, Address at this time was 15 Mather Street Bootle Lancs.
On the 1881 i have Alexander (39 (still a Bootcloser)with a wife Martha A (37 (b Liverpool) with 3 children aged 12, 8 and 9 days, address at the time was 6 1 Beau Street Liverpool.
Is there any chance of you finding the marriage/death of Annie to Alexander and the marriage of Martha A to Alexander?
I know it's a long shot as White is a very common name, but anything you can find would be appreciated.

firstly no age given for any of the passengers on this voyage other than adult or child!
secondly all the passengers on this voyage are all women and children, no men at all!
thirdly at the top of the actual page of the passenger list written in pencil, it says 'military dependents'

Is it possible that William got sent to war? or was in the military services at all?

I believe i have told you before, but my BMD records only start from 1837, as the relatives you are looking for were born in the 1780's the likelyhood is that they were married end of 1700's - very beginning of 1800's.
Therefore i will not be able to locate their marriage etc.

I wondered if William was military. Will check him out next. As for the child, they had 2 sons...so I'm off to see births for Thwaites/Checkett...thank heavens they married after 1911.
My James has been found..well the death and a year of him emigrating (1910), plus he had a sister with him then...my money is on Kitty (Catherine)

I dont have access to 1851 census but can confirm that he is definately on it living in Northumberland, his relationship to head of household is an employee, but unfortunately as i do not have full access to the 1851 census this is all it provides me with. I f you contact someone that has ancestry they will be able to look up the full entry for you.

This is a long shot because as you say White is a extremely common name! Also i guess we have no real confirmation that she definately died during the two census dates rather than Alex and her got divorced or similar.
However dispite this, i did a search for all Annie White's that died in Lancashire between 1871 and 1881, and the following is the only one that was an adult at the time of death (the others are aged between 0 and 3yrs old at time of death)!!

I have James Povey bc 1870 Wem Shropshire, his parents are Thomas bc 1826 Holart Cheshire and Mary bc 1838 Wem Shropshire.
That is the only info i have on them. Anything you can find on Thomas and/or Mary before James was born would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the look-up Ceri but I have my Matthew Little in Ettrick Selkirk in 1841 and again in 1861 so doubt he could be in Northumberland in 1851 though you never know.Problem is the name is very common.
