Thelma
These are all the Sophia Thomas's aged between 50 and 60 in 1841
Household THOMAS, Sophia 50 F Bristol
Household THOMAS, Sophia 55 F Burton Upon Trent
Household THOMAS, Sophia 51 F Bridgend & Cowbridge
Household THOMAS, Sophia 55 F Cardiff
Household THOMAS, Sophia 50 F Lambeth
**Household THOMAS, Sophia 55 F Shoreditch
**Household THOMAS, Sophia 50 F London, East
Household THOMAS, Sophia 50 F Greenwich
Household THOMAS, Sophia 55 F Carmarthen
Household THOMAS, Sophia 50 F Haverfordwest

I then did the same search but added a Joseph to the household the results i have starred above ie the one from Shoreditch and the other London East.

I would advise that the one from Shoreditch is a Workhouse, the Joseph in the household does not appear to be related, and there about 50 people plus living here all aged between 11 days!! and 90yrs!! And the london one the Joseph is only 20yrs old
Hope this helps sorry

Hello Ian

Can you please help me to locate my gt aunt on your passenger lists. This is the information that I have already gleaned.

My gt. uncle Samuel Morgan left Pontardulais, Wales and arrived at Ellis Island on 2nd July, 1920. He went to stay with a friend at Irwin St, Woodlawn, Pittsburg. My gt aunt Margaret (Maggie) did not travel with him but joined him later. The Ellis Island passenger lists only go to 1924. She would have travelled from Llangyfalach, Wales possibly with some of her children. Their names are Denzil, Gilbert and Noel and Peggy Morgan. I don't know how many of the children, if any, were born in Wales. That's all I have. Can you help please?

Many thanks, Isobel

This would appear to be Alice's marriage, but not confirmed.
Name: Alice E Vane
Year of Registration: 1915
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
Spouse's name: George H Knight
District: Brighton
County: Sussex, East Sussex
Volume: 2b
Page: 726

The following are all the Alice knight deaths that were born in 1857.
Record

Age at Death: 15
District: Kings Norton (To 1912)

The following are all the Alice Knight's deaths recorded, that were born in 1857
Alice Knight abt 1857 1872 Oct-Nov-Dec Kings Norton (To 1912) Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire

As her married name is not shown on the record i am currently unable to locate her death, might be worth obtaining her marriage cert which would provide lots more information.

Caroline Matilda Vane 1898 Jul-Aug-Sep St Olave Southwark (1837-1901) London, Surrey

Again i wont find her death without her married name.

Hi Ceri,
Did wonder if you'd still be about...or if you can reach your keyboard:0)))
When you have time, would you be able to see if there is a listing for Elizabeth and William Henry H Thwaites leaving England (poss Liverpool) for Canada after 1914.
I believe they ended up in Ontario, but again I have quite limited info :0(((
Many thanks for your time, Jane x

Ceri,
How stupid of me!!
Elizabeth was born 1894, so would have been 20/1 in 1914, but I think it would have been a little while after that .I dont know that she did travel with William and a child is possible. They married in 1914 in Lancaster., which is why it would have been after that
Glad your still with us :0)) Must dash...work calling xx
