Hi Susan, I'll try & keep this short. You were kind enough to look up possible births & deaths for Thomas Ashfield & his father Benjamin, the other day. These 2 have been at brickwall stage for over a year!! Can't find any baptism or death entries for either. I am now fairly positive I have found Thomas death - mistranscribed as AshfORD in 1872. BUT his youngest child's baptism is on the VRI in 1877. (she was born 1869) You have obviously looked at 100's of entries, have you come across any baptisms where it actually states the fathers name followed by deceased? I want this death entry to be his so bad! But the christening date obviously throws a bit of a spanner in the works! I'm going to order the cert anyway!! I was just curious, I think I'm leaving myself wide open for another disappointment. Thanks again, Debbie PS does the VRI cover Ireland? If not, is there one for Ireland? |

Hi Susan, Thanks for your reply. There's still hope then, that this could be him??!! I was half hoping that VRI didn't cover Ireland! It had been suggested that they may have been from Ireland, I was telling myself this was why no Benjamin if he had always remained there. Never mind, we'll see what the eath cert turns up. A million thanks for your time. Debbie |

Hi Susan - Thank you for your kind offer, I am trying to trace the Aspland/Asplund family, I believe Alexander Aspland was born Wandsworth about 1830, I don't have a marriage date, but son George was born about 1861 - Islington. Also a Emma Matilda Bayley/Bagley born about 1865 Theobald Road Holborn. I can trace them all on the census for 1871/81/91/01 but any other info you can give me would be very much appreciated. Hi Susan, Just checked the thread - you're too kind! Thanks for checking Ireland, tho' these dates are a bit late. Thomas would have been born c1833/34 and Benjamin - guessing c1810/15, BUT Co. Tyrone was mentioned as a possibility by someone else researching the name. So there could be something in that. Don't know if I'll ever break this wall, will let you know if I do! Many thanks again for your time & effort Debbie |

Hello Susie. I have been recommended by one of your satisfied customers for a bit of sleuthing. William WHYBREW married Ellen Cormacke on 22 Jun 1868 He was 20 and she 19. His father was Charles Whybrew hers Henry Cormacke. They were married in Great bardfield Parish church. William died 1901 aged 53 and was a Grocer in Ware. I need help finding b or ch of both William and Charles and also Ellen who is later called both Cormack and Mc Cormack and would appreciate any light that you may be able to throw on these individuals. Tanks for your time. Roger in Eastbourne |
