Hiya Lynda, As if I'd make up streetnames just to keep your thread going ! This is hard work finding people without a name index isn't it ? Just looked up Little Chester Street and it still exists - almost next door to Buckingham Palace - between Chester Street and Wilton Street. That's Belgravia - do you think that might be Kensington rather than St Martins ? Sending you an email by the way. Thanks for looking, Rick. |

Hi Lynda, Didn't want this thread to disappear, so I thought I'd ask for a lookup ! I got a poor copy of a cert through the post today and the addresses are a bit feint, but I think I'm looking for 3, Earls (or maybe Earles) Street in St Martin in the Fields for the Baines family. There's also another address which I think says Little Chester Street in the same area, but there's no house number. Looking for the Jobbins family, but I'll understand if there are too many houses to look through. Thanks, Rick. |

Dear Lynda Sorry to ask you for 1861 and 1851, but could you look for Frances Matthews and Henry Matthews on the 1851 at the Workhouse, Princes Street, Lambeth, Surrey, please? I don't know how old Frances would have been, but Henry would have been about two or three (born Sept 1848; possibly not called Henry). Many thanks Lysianne |

Hi Lynda, You found this family on the 1861 London census. Please look them up at the same address on the 1851. I would like to know if there were any children. Ellis and Anna Sophia Jones. Both aged about 28. 24 Tottenham Place St Pancras If they were there, could you please tell me their place of birth. If they are not there, could you please tell me if their place of birth was on the 1861 census. Many thanks, Lilian |

Hi Lynda You have very kindly looked for this family at three addresses and so far no luck - I now have folio numbers for Humphreys families and wonder if you could check those for me: Fol no. 267 and 474 (1851 Census Shoreditch - St. Leonard) If this is going to be too time consuming please do not bother. Thanks so much for trying Lynda. We did find at 22 Mill Lane, Woolwich, an Elizabeth Keast (unusual name for London) with daughter Ellen. But though the kiddie's name/age matches, according to her birth certificate, her mother was a totally different woman (Ann) so the mystery rumbles on lol. Thank you again! |

Hello Lynda: I wonder if the army barracks at Woolwich is listed in the 1851? I'm looking for a Royal Artillery gunner called Samuel Keast who was stationed there about this time. Many thanks! |

Hi Lynda Many thanks for kind offer. When you have time please could you look up 6 Omega Terrace, St Marylebone, Middx. Family name of Richardson and 18 New Quebec Street, St Marylebone, Middx. Family name of Welin ( or variant ) may be a guest house though. Does the London census cover the Loughton/Hornchrch area? Kind regards Deborah |

Hi Lynda, I don't have a number for this address but would it be possible, if the streets are not too long to have a look for a John and Jemima Lane, in Little Distaff Lane Fish Street. Many Thanks April. |

Hi Lynda Thank you for looking up Vickerys. They don't appear to be my direct line of ancestry but I will keep information as I'm sure they will somehow link up with mine! Names John and Charles Vickery are familiar names. I appreciate your kindness . Thank you Sally |

Brilliant ! Thanks Lynda - the last couple of days have been fantastic for finding ancestors. I've added 9 GGG grandparents and 2 GGGG grandparents. Cost a small fortune in certificates, but it was worth it. Pimlico sounds right - just along the Embankment from Chelsea. Thanks again, Rick. |
