Hi Susie, Sorry to be so vague, I really don't know. I'm chasing a probable red herring as I got his name from the cremetorium burial list whilst looking for my gggrandmother Emma Baker (didn't find her)who died in 1901 at 7 Chapter street. I think on reflection he was 6 Chaper street so would have been next door neighbour and I'm looking for any clues to a family connection. If its any help Emma was living at no. 22 Chapter st. in 1891 with husband Stephen (I have those details). Marion |

Hi Susie, That's fantastic! The Readers are the right ones. I'm wondering about the William though - the age is ten years out and I didn't know he'd been married twice, the old dog! Would you mind looking to see if there are any other William Wellsprings on there, not necessarily born in Dorset. It's quite an unusual name, so fingers crossed! Thanks again for trying, Jane |

Oh dear! William got married to Frances Clara WICKENS in October 1891. She was born in 1868 in Southwark, London. I haven't done a search for her on 1891 yet. His parents (Henry c. 1835 and Susan Elizabeth c. 1828) were still alive in 1901 and living in Dorchester, Dorset, just like him and Frances were too. Both his parents were born in Dorchester. Is this any good? Maybe you could find them or his wife? Perhaps he was in the army overseas, but I have no idea if he was.... Anything you can suggest would be great, Jane |

Hurrah! You star! Haven't had much luck on this board recently. That's made my day! Wellopring! Anyway, Frances' father was George but he was dead by the time she married, and her mother was Sarah, I suppose she had died by then too! A big big thank you! Jane |
