hi Debs, Yes that's William Jones on 1881, he's a differcult one to take further back as his Mothers Name is different from his fathers, as his mother was MAry Jones and his father was John Dye, already have those details but thanks anyway, june

Hi Debs, Fantastic! I had the 1881 census stuff for the Smart's & it was the youngest son's name that gave me the clue that they had both been married previously. You came up trumps with the Smart/Lawrence marriage. Goodrum seems to be frequently misspelt as Goodwin. Just excellent. Another line to trace. Cheers......Zoe, Wellington, NZ
