Hi, Sally, this time for Holmes in London (in St Pancras, Islington in 1881, 24 y.o then). My great grandfather and ggmother James (Stewart) Holmes, railway porter, and Henrietta Holmes. James born in Southsea Hants, Henrietta in (it's said in LDS 1881) in Paris. I can't find her beyond 1881, and he is also on my grandfather's (John Holmes) marriage cert., 1920. Thanks a million. Hi, Sally, the Lawrence you found seems unrelated. Mine is Eleanor Mary Anne, b1888 in Canning Town/ West Ham, so 13 y.o. She has sisters Ada and Annie, maybe 11 or so. I have no other information, parents (more of my ggps) occupations or whatever. Frustrating! Best wishes. Michael (in Dundas).

Thank you Sally, not sure though, I looked on the census for 1901 and there is a William Carroll who is 47 who is living in West Ham in 1901 as a draper would you mind looking him up for me, is confusing as thought is wife was annie, but the son fits as his son was a william h, so it is just to double check thank you Janet
