Ok then, I'm hoping to find a Jonathan Scarfe/Scarf/Scaife being christened sometime between 1803 and 1808 in yorkshire, preferably Barnsley but I can't even be sure of that :(

Hi Sue please could you look for any information on William Eccleston who was aged 50 on the 1901 census, he was married to Mary aged 53.And as far as i know his occupation was a Rag and bone merchant and living in Skipton North Yorkshire. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

ann nolan. try stepping stones or s and n , both sell parish discs. it was about £30- but i cannot remember which i bought it from. sue.

ruth the parish disc ends in 1837. you might be better getting their w cert, or asking someone to do a search for him on the 61 or 71 census- that might find him living with his parents. from the 1881 middletons road, beeston, notts herbert henson 23 b chilwell agnes [wife] 23 b forver and their 3 children, all born in beeston. sue.

Sue - Nothing seems to fully cover the Barnsley area! Such a shame as a great chunk of my ancestors are from Barnsley or the village of Worsbrough which is nearby! As for the Scarfe family... they're just difficult! Always have been and always will be. My Mum's especially stubborn :)

Sue - I've got them in the 1841, 1851, 1871, 1881, some in 1891 and some of them in 1901. Am definitely missing 1861, but thats a job for when I'm next in the record office as I'll be tracking at least 3 families!
