Hi Kal Could you please have a look for these thompsons in berkswell on the 1861.... george age 48, wife mary age 35, in 1851 they are living at hodgetts lane... also Ruth Martin - this ones a bit of a mystery, in 1851 she's described as being a brick maker, unfortunately don't know her age, she doesn't show on '71 or '81 but she married in 1865 (again - have no conrete proof of this!!) Thank you Teri |

Beverley, There is no William S York on the 1841 census, But there is only one York family on it, i have followed them up through the census's, 41/51/61/71/81, and they did have a William c 1845 in Coventry. Do you think this could be him ? Have you found him on any census yet ? Can you give me any more info or shall i just type up the 1845 William ? Kindest regards Kal |

Hi Kal Should call yourself Superwoman in the G.Nuthouse!! You manage to decorate aswell!!??!! I'm worn out just reading this lot! lol Some of the ages and name spellings do vary but I think that's down to scribing perhaps. Will look up Josephs marriage to Milly/ Amelia. Mary Sherrin could be her sister and I wonder if Sarah Green is their grandmother perhaps. Well I will try and digest it all now and get some sense of order on my tree before I start another avenue, I can't keep up with you! lol. You've been marvellous. Truly appreciated, thank you so much |

Blimey Kal, do you eat, drink and sleep with the mouse in your hand! I never expected a reply so soon with so much info! Well done, I'm sure it's my family and the Quinney is more than likely the right one due to the Amelia and Harriet in there. The names George and Julia seem to follow through in the family aswell. When you have time it would be great if you could look up the Bakers and Quinneys. Thank you so much. Regards Sue |

Hi Kal I've got as far back as 1881 with the following: George Crutchlow b1853 Watchmaker 23 Stoney Stanton Rd Eliza '' b1855 Wife and daughters Julia, Amelia and Emely. Would like to know if possible Georges parents names. I found Richard 'Crutchlone' 50yrs, Wife Julia 44yrs and children Liza T, Harriet and George (age 19yrs) on the 1871 Census but not sure if it's a transcript error. Would appreciate any help tracing back the Crutchlow family 1841/61. The family seemed to be around Stoney Stanton Rd, Henrietta St, Smith St in later years. I saw your other thread re Baptisms and wondered if the Thomas Crutchlow is one of mine? Thanks Sue |

Hi to you all. No requests, but you may be interested in a good website, www.picturesofcoventry.co.uk. It has a good selection of old Coventry (before the Luftwaffe did their thing) and shows how Holyhead Road and Spon Street, St. Michaels etc looked. As this was the main district for watchmaking and weaving (as we all seem to have a fair amount of those listed with our ancestors!). Regards to you all. Pip (always looking for Haymes/Heames). |
