Joan - thank you, I was aware of that. If you were offering the information to others, I suggest you put it on the tips board, as it will just get lost in this thread. Not all of the censuses for all areas are yet transcribed on that site either, there is only 1841 for the Consett area for example. regards Linda

Andrea, I got mine from Stepping Stones, (add the 3 w's and end with the usual punctuation co uk) - but archive cd books without spaces and (punctuated com) also sell them - stepping stones were the cheapest! Linda

Deborah - there is no Prescott St on 1861, I did look in the area but did not find them. Also had a look at Blackhill in case they were still there, but no luck, sorry Linda

Linda I feel bad about being greedy but could I please ask if you could look up John Dilkes on 1861 in Bishop Auckland. Also Isabella Smith who was married (don't know name of husband) but may have still been licing with Dilkes and will have had children John and Joseph (and possibly Thomas). They could be in or around Carr's Place, Bishop Auckland. Many thanks for your invaluable help. Andrea
