Hi Linda Thanks so much for your kind offer, If you have the time could you look for Alexander Purvis living in Union Lane in Sunderland in 1846 so either the 1841 or 1851 would be great. Many thanks Claire |

Angela, have looked at Pittington, Sherburn and Shincliffe areas without success. The St Nicholas area of Durham is just too big to look at every village, sorry Linda |

Linda, I may not have enough information for you to do a successful look-up but working on the basis that if you don't ask, you don't get, so here goes: Looking for Ruth WOOD on the 1841 census. She would be aged 10 or thereabouts (I suspect her age will be rounded down anyway). Her father is John WOOD (possibly aged about 40). Mother, I think is called Mary Ann (don't know her age). Ruth was born in Middle Rainton, so they may be living there or in West Rainton (a lot of my ancestors are from there). The only other info I have is that Ruth married in 1849 and was living in Elemore Vale, which is part of Easington Lane. She married in Pittington. Many thanks, Andy |
