Hi Linda, Could you possibly find Henry and Mary Gent in the 1841 and 1871 censuses please. Henry was born Cockerton, Darlington c1818 and Mary was born, Piercebridge N.Yorks c 1820. For either census they should be in Darlington or Haswell i would think as that is where they are in the other censuses that ihave found. In Darlington they are known to have lived in Henry St, and Allan St, Both in the North Road area. Thank you for your time, Maggie.

Linda, that info on Jane Hay is just what I needed. Got her marriage cert this morning and don't you just love it when it all comes together!! Roberts father is down as deceased on cert (1857) but I've a feeling the family was from Sunderland as they married at Holy Trinity there.
