Marriage Index Thomas Hardstaff/Sarah Hall, 19.1.1846 Hucknall Christening Index Born to a Thomas/Sarah Hardstaff and Christened at Hucknall Ann 16.2.1846 (Born 30.1.1846) William 16.4.1848 Ann 16.12.1852 Mary 27.8.1854 Frances 18.1.1864 All show the father as a FWK. If the two Anns are the same family I assume the first one died but I cannot find her on the Burial Index. There is no Atkin(s) in Hucknall in 1851. There is a Samuel Atkin in 1841 aged 60yrs who appears to be living alone so I assume he has passed on before the next census. Nb Hardstaff is a very common name in this area and most originate from Annesley 2 miles from Hucknall.. In the 17C the spelling is Hardstaffe. |

Head, Wid, 78 Yrs b Dagenham, Essex Folio 133 House 32 Mary Ann Harvey, Head,Marr, 49Yrs Farm Labourers wife, b Suffolk, Addingham. Thomas son, Un Marr, 20yrs dit son b Sneinton, Notts ????? Your help/advice much appreciated, thanks, I'll look into the Doncaster 1851. I know it's one of those villages on the county border which has changed over time. Actually I first began to look at Yorks. when I found that family. In 1841 it's in Notts. Now I'll go back. regards Hazel |

Hi Dawn I cannot find your family in North Wheatley 1851 At Piece 2121 Folio 123, South Wheatley Sarah Woodhead, Un Marr, 18 Yrs, General Servant. b Not Known. She is with a farmer Samuel and Elizabeth Bathwick? and family. I believe that I have found John Woodhead aged 3 in North Wheatley in 1841 with Father Joseph and Mother Sarah plus three siblings. One of these is a Sarah who may be the one above. If this is the correct family some are on the Christening Index and there is also a reference to a Marriage between a Joseph/Sarah on the Marriage Index. If you do not have any of the above or you want me to check the whole Piece for 1851, please get back. |

Hazel Good news and bad news. Piece 2348 Folios 381-407 covers Misson in 1851. There are Dobb(s) at 389.401/401 and another close by at 227. This Piece comes under Doncaster, Yorks for that year.so you will need someone with that census to check them out. |
