Hi Sarah in Derby, I'm not having any luck either. Do you have ages of Selina's sisters at the time of the census'? There are a lot of James Collier's and Finch's appearing but none for Monmouth. Where is Monmouth? Do you know how old he might have been? that may help aswell. Laurie |

Hi laurie could you please please please have a look for a James FINCH on 1891 - I'm not sure of his wife's name (possibly Elizabeth, but equally possibly Selina!!) There should be a daughter Selina aged about 1 (assuming my other info is correct) - only problem is I'm not sure where I'm looking! It should be in Monmouth, and she should have sisters Sarah and Charlotte, but the 1901 census doesn't narrow it down any 'cos I can't find any of them on there (lots of James's, but none with daughters as named) I am seriously beginning to think this girl just appeared on her wedding day in 1910 and didn't exist prior to that! Any help gratefully appreciated! Thanks Sarah ps if it helps James is listed as 'Collier' on Selina's marriage cert! |

My birth mother found me, her name is Moira Nixon born 1932 in Earl Shilton Leicestershire. My grandparents were Annie Elizabeth Brown (b. 1902)from Leicestershire who married George Nixon from Warwickshire. Annie had a sister called Mary McCoy-Brown who died at 2 yrs old of Diptheria and a brother called Lewis Brown. Then my great grandparents Charlotte (or Sophia) McCoy who was Irish who married Walter Brown. I guess birth year may be around 1875 give or take a few years? Somewhere in there is a William Nixon, father of George Nixon. Charlotte (or Sophia - they were sisters) later left her husband and emmigrated to New Zealand somewhere between 1905 and 1912. Can one get passenger lists and names of boats? Please, I am getting nowhere trying to find my ancestry..... |

Wonder if you would be kind enough to have a look for a JOHN BLACKMORE in 1871 Census? Aged 56 (gives age as 66 years in the 1881 census). I have a copy of his marriage certificate to a Mary Ann Howchin in August 1858, which I think may be a second marriage. He also has 3 children by 1881 census, but the eldest is 22 which would make him 12 on the 1871 census, his name is also John. Really struggling to find anything concrete before this 1881 census apart from his marriage certificate 1858. He states that he was born in Gloucestershire, Cheltenham and his wife born in Essex, north Weald? Would really appreciate any help is you can spare the time, Many Thanks, Sheryl |

After parents names on both sides and any brothers and sisters if possible and also marriage date for them. Any info much appreciated - Many thanks! |

Hello Laurie, Tricky one for you - it's Ireland, need I say more lol. Looking for great grandparents' family in Ballymena area in the '51 census, Racavan parish, villages of Ballygelly (not Ballygally), Buckna or Glenwhirry. Families are James Shaw (ag lab) and son Daniel (born ca 1840-45); and John McPeake (ag lab) and daughter Margaret (roughly same dates as Daniel). Sorry so vague, but it's worth a shot. Many thanks in advance for your kind offer Laurie, Gordon Fairbairn. |

Hi Laurie, I am looking for a John MOSEDALE who died sometime between 1861-1871 when he dropped off the census records. He would probably be listed under West Derby District of Liverpool, any info you could provide to help me get details for the death certificate would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

Hi Lisa Evans, Sorry I knew I had to have missed someone. The census for Montgomeryshire is very partial and does not include that area. I did look in the areas that I have but nothing. Sorry again that I missed you out. Laurie |

Hi Louise, What you need is your Grandad's full name which will be on your parents marriage cert. It will have the name of both fathers. If you can't get that then it will be a bit harder. Do you have your mothers birth cert which will have her parents names inc maiden name? If not do you know when and where either of your grandparents died. You can email me direct and I'll give you as much help as I can. Laurie |
