Hi Elizabeth, Sorry I do not have access to the passengers ship's list. You'll need somebody who has Ancestry.com (I have UK only). I can help if you have death dates etc but cannot do years between abt 1907-1984 anything before or after is fine. Laurie |

Hi Sarah, Sorry still nothing. I've tried everything I can think of. The only thing left is do you have any death dates after 1984? May be able to get a date of birth from there. It looks to me that James Finch might not be James Collier. Could James Collier be an adopted parent as it seems strange that his surname is different. Unless like my grandmother her surname was changed for a reason not known by any of us. Her surname at the time of her marriage(Stanley) was not the same as when she was born (Constant). Also her father's first names were exactly the same.!! Her father at birth was Charles Constant and at time of marriage Charles Stanley?? I still don't know if these men are the same people. Any extra info you can give me might help. Laurie |

Hi laurie I think I must have confused you...when I said 'collier' I meant his occupation. I have found 2 Selina Finch's on 1901, one born in Lancs one in London, but neither of those have a father called James (although they do both have an older brother called James!) and none of them seem to have anything to do with coalmining. I ran out of credit searching for James Finch in either Lancs or London - the only thing I could think of was that Selina was listed as something different (bad spelling or known as something else like Lina or Lena) or that she was living somewhere else, not with her father. The only Selina Finch I found who appeared to be living with a different family, though, was aged 5, which would have made her only 14 when she got married, so I discounted that one (seems to be stretching it just a bit too far) - even heavily pregnant I doubt a 14 yr old could have passed for 21. |

Hi Christine, There are two marriages for Alfred Pickles one 1840 and the other 1848 however there isn't a Margaret on either page. This one I think is more likely to be yours. Alfred Pickles m Dec quart 1840 Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire volume 23 page 213 (the ladies listed are: Hannah Bennett, Mary Bottomley, Mary Butterfield and Ann Settle) the other marriage took place in Leeds. Hi Laurie Don't know if you can help with this one: THOMAS FLETHCHER married his SECOND wife CATHERINE JANE DORMER in 1907. I am trying to find his FIRST wife who would have been my GT GRANDMOTHER. The second marriage was registered in BLAKBURN but I know they lived in GREAT HARWOOD Thanks Sandra |

Hi Laurie, I'm trying to trace any FALDO's in Rotherhithe/Greenwich area. I have 1881 and 1891 census details. Really grateful if you could find any in 1871. Also you looked up another link in Norfolk for me - Issac SUTTON, wife Mary Anne or Mary Anna & children Amelia and William but no trace. I know they were in Norfolk in 1870 when William was born. By 1875 they were in Middlesborough when third child born and 1881 (with new wife) in Suffolk. Any chance you could have another look for me. Really having trouble here as Issac had at least 4 wives! Thanks, Maggie |

Hi Sandra, I found a possible marriage: Thomas Fletcher m March quart 1873 Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire vol 9b page 43. The only thing is there are three men listed and one woman, the woman being Martha Whitaker which isn't the right person. I would check Freebmd for Alice as she might be on there that's if that's who you are looking for. Laurie |

Hi Brian Carder, On the 1871 there is this, which might mean that they've finally been found. Fingers crossed that this is them: 1871 Living West Ham, Essex head John Carter Hayton 24yrs b Exeter, Devon wife Mary Ann Hayton 23yrs b Folkestone, Kent brother George Carda 16yrs b Fulham, Middlesex brother Henry Carder 14yrs b Stratford, Essex At the minute there is a problem with Ancestry and it is not letting me view the census to see occupations. Iwonder if you could help again! Clara Isabella Sheppard born 1846 Southwark, London. I'm fairly sure she didn't die until 1898 (in Derby) so I'm hoping she may be findable. With many thanks. |
