Hello Mary I wonder if it might be possible to look on the 1861/71 census for Haltwhistle, Northumberland. I believe my g-grandfather, William Johnson was born there c. 1863. The only other detail I know is that his father was also William Johnson, and both were General Labourers. Sorry - I know it's not much to go on, but I'm finding that Johnson is not an easy name to trace in the north-east! Any help would be greatly appreciated Many thanks Helen |

Hi Mary Thanks for the look-up re CARTER in Worcs/Glos. I agree that alien abduction is a definite possiblity. The other possibility is London. Is this a possible look-up? I fully understand if it isn't. Thanks again. Barbara |

Mary Discovered a marriage in 1880 late last night for John CARTER and ELiza Jones at Upton on Severn. Think this must be his 2nd marriage as he was in his 70s at the time. So am now really looking for John CARTER born Bredon, Worcs (b1808)on any census - with any spouse. Sorry to be such a pain, but I just decided to look on IGI late last night for a marriage much later than I had previously been looking, and there it was! Will understand if no can do. Many thanks anyway. Barbara |

Hi Mary Thanks for the second John Carter look-up - even a negative search is positive, if you know what I mean. At least there are some areas I can now eliminate from future searches. Thanks again. Barbara |

Hi again Mary You've already kindly done a look-up for me, but I wondered if you could possibly do another for the London 1871 census? I am looking for my 2 x g-grandmother and her family: Rebecca A. KEY, born Northampton (should be aged 69 in 1871), and probably her daughters Rachel and Emma Sarah. All are hairdressers, and should be in the Minories,Whitechapel or Paddington areas. Hope this is not too much to ask for. Many thanks Helen |

Hi, I wonder if you could look up the marriage of Stephen Tappin in Bethnal Green? Middlesex(London). On the 1861 census he is 34 and he died in 1862 aged 35. His eldest child was 13 then so I take it he married about/before 1847 when he and his wife would have been about 20. He was born in St Pancras, I don't know her name except her first name starts with 'M' and she was born in Ratcliff? - can't read it. Also could you try to find the death of his brother Henry George Tappin, b Shoreditch 1839. He died between 1858 and May 1874 when his widow remarried. Would be in the London/middlesex area, again Bethnal Green/Shoreditch. His wife was Sarah. Many thanks Michaela |

Mary, Not sure if your offer of look ups is still open, if not don't worry. You found some great info for me on Richard James & Elizabeth Grafton in Lyneham/Churchill/Sarsden area on the 1861 & 1871 census. Have now got Elizabeths parents marriage certificate, James Grafton & Susannah Pratt who maried 31/12/1842 in Chadlington, & which state their fathers as George Grafton & William Pratt. Could you possibly look at 1841 census & see if you can find either James or Susannah at home with their parents/family? Thanks Di |
