Hello Debra - me again, could you please have a look for this family in Hertfordshire 1891 - George Taylor age 44 - wife Ellen 42 both born Hertford, there should be several children including a John age 13 born Hertford. Also if you're not too busy a Pamela Braggins also in Herts (now she may not be a Pamela I'm not certain) age 15 born Hatfield Herts. The Braggins family seem to be very few and far between in that area. Many thanks Sue. PS Just found Pamela mistranscribed in 1881 - father James Braggins, would be 60 and Levinia Braggins age 36

Hi Debra I am desperately looking for Elijah Shell. He was born in 1837 in Deptford and married an Elizabeth. In 51 he was living in Stratford (West Ham) and in 81 was living in Sutton Surrey. He claims to have been born in Leigh Essex but I know better. I think he also lived in Epsom at one point. Can you do the impossible and find him at all in 71 or 91? Any help gratefully received. I would just like to know when Elijah and Elizabeth got married (around 1855-60), and what is Elizabeth's maiden name, I have looked but no luck. Thanks for looking Deb. Yes Elijah's parents were Elijah Shell and Jane Teape, I think Jane was Irish so that will be hard to trace. If you are at a lose end and feeling a bit like a detective, I am still looking for my mum's grandad. Charles Bateman born Deptford 1866-68. He's on the 71 aged 3 with mum Frances and brother Richard. I have Charles marriage cert in 88 (to Caroline Shell) which states father William Bateman (deceased). I have Charles on 91 and 01 but nothing on 81 and no birth record. No record of Frances and William marriage either. Old Charlie Boy is my biggest stumbling block. Off out for a curry tonight but back to family tree tomorrow. Just tell me to b*gger off if I am being a pest. Selena

Hi Debra - how odd! This is what I have so far.. I have them in 1881 and 1901 at this address - Stanboro, Hatfield Herts. George approx 44 says born Essenden on both census either a Hay Binder or ASg Lab. Ellen Taylor 42 in 81 says born Essenden in 1901 born Rybes Green Herts. Son Frederick is age 1 in 1881 and still at home in 1901 all children born Hatfield. 1901 includes a Florence who would be 9 in 1891, Maud who would be 4 and a William who would be 2yrs There is a Sarah age 19 in 1891 a George 18 an Anne 15 and John 13 somewhere ? Hope this helps. NO HURRY on these as I'm just starting on this family... Thanks Sue

Hi Debra thanks for looking up George Mantripp 1871, its possibe he could have been living in or around Harrow Middx as his daughter was living there in 1881 and remarried there in1883. ....I'm also looking for Thomas & Caroline Jeeves + 4 sons. In Sept 1897 were living in Streatham London when he retired from the police force but in 1901 could not find any of them on the census and believe they may have gone to the US. In 1900 Thomas was 50 born Bushey Herts and caroline 53 born Harrow Middx. If you could look them up in the first census after 1900. Many thanks Mike
