Hi Dot; There are no Newick/Blackmore marriages at all. The only birth for George Newick is in 1895 Hornfield, Glos. There are only two Newick birth records for Somerset, Henry Newick b 1870, parents George and Elizabeth. William Neol Newick b 1901 -parents Joseph and Mary Jane. Both in Ash Priors. Let me know if you want them.

Hi Sally; I found the Ashton/Lightbourne marriage as well but still no parents names on the BVRI. I also did a parish church collection search--lots of Ashtons but the closest marriage to Williams birthdate is 1785 and earlier, may be a bit early. There are several possibilities for William's birth. I have posted them here although neither are for st Mary's. There don't seem to be any Ashton births there until the late 1830's. There are siblings listed for these entries, let me know if you want them. Hi Gwen; The closest I can come for a birth for Robert Mansfield is 1839 in Essex with parents William Henry and Mary Ann. There was a William Henry with wife Mary in Bristol around 1850 but the only children listed are Maurice William and Anna Maria. Maybe Robert was missed .

Hi Penny; I have looked at your first post again and now wondering if I am checking for the right names. Are Henry, Emma and Elizabeth Appleton or Albury names? Sorry, I'm mixed up. I also looked at the freebmd entry for Charles and think that you are probably right thinking Sarah Albury is the spouse. I looked through Berkshire again and there are are 3 posibilities for families for Sarah around that time, however all are in Basilden. Sarah is definitely not there. If you want all the info on these families email me. Maybe it will make more sense if you see the rest.
