Hallo Nicola, (aka Ian), I would be most grateful if you could find any info on either or both of these families, both centred around Bradninch and Woodbury, (nr Exeter) in Devon. First, Sainthill LINDSEY. I have a London born one, but there is also a Bradninch one, his 'owner' and I feel that with such an unusual name there must be a connection between the two. Any Lindsey/Lindsay etc would be of great interest. And similiarly, anyone with SAINTHILL as a surname - they were quite a prominent family in Bradninch particularly, and I have found a reference to a Lindsay SAINTHILL - which would connect the two. Nicola - many many thanks - the Lindsey's you have found have provided plenty of food for thought - what I thought I was certain of has been thrown into doubt - am not half so sure as I was as to who is part of whose family now. Back to the drawing board! It's very odd re the Sainthill's. They were a big noise in Bradninch particularly (and in Devon in general I gather) throughout the 16's and 17's. I have an Elizabeth Margaret Sainthill, daughter of Edward Sainthill and Elizabeth Lindsey, who was born in 1764, Bradninch, and died in 1843 - and she is the latest I can find in the area.
