Kerry Report 16 Sep 2004 19:38

Thanks for the kind offer Steph, I live in Southampton and need to get to the northants records office at some point but any help you can give me I'd be mega grateful. I've traced my Cox family in the Daventry area. I'd like to know who Joshua Cox's parents are please. The 1841 says he was 35 and born in the county living in Badby parish with wife Mary 40 not born in northants and kids Thomas 13 ,Meria 11,Wm 8,George 5 all born Badby. He married Mary Cave 28 JUN 1821 in Badby. Someone looked up the 1871 for me but couldn't find him there. So I need the 1851 and 1861 to see when he disappeared please. Also his son William age 38 I have on the 1871 living in Everdon with wife Mary 38, Kids Wm 15, Emma 13, Roseann 10, Charlotte 9, Hannah 6, Fanny 4, Mary 2, Harry 5m. They married 1855 so 1861 census would be appreciated. Mary was born in Charwelton but Wm was born in Badby. I've probably got plenty more to look up but these ones are more important to me for now. Thank you for your time. Kerry Cox.

Made a note, Kerry. Lesley, do you have any idea where he died? Daventry? Any idea of a parish, Daventry is quite a big place, any idea of dates, roughly? Thanks, Steph

Hi Steph, The IGI says Robert Fitzjohn married Ann Wright in Kings Cliffe on 12.10.1759 but I can't find anything about their births or parents. I suspect Ann was born in Kings Cliffe and Robert in Apethorpe (their children were all born in Apethorpe). Any info on their ancestors would be most welcome! Cheers Alex

Marian

Marian Report 19 Sep 2004 12:12

Hi, I'm trying to find more info about my great grandmother whose husband divorced her for adultery in 1895. She subsequently married the man she was committing adultery with. (He was my great grandfather) We think he was her doctor and he got 'struck off' the medical register! I've got the divorce papers which tell me that they committed adultery at 123 Rockingham Road, Kettering 'on divers occasions' between July and October 1894. Are there any records of a local GP called George William Joseph Walker? My great grandmother was Elizabeth Taylor (nee Chater) and her wronged husband was Harry Taylor, who remarried & went on to run a cycle shop. Thanks Marian Gamble

Steph, Sorry to ask you again when you are so busy, Would you be able to look at the 1861 census? Please could you have a look for Charles Gray age 56 Stanion Elizabeth Gray age 46 Great Oakly Charles Gray age 22 Stanion David Gray age 16 Stanion Joseph Gray age 6 Stanion Sally/Sarah Gray age 3 Stanion. They would be in Stanion, around Little Lane area. If you could it would be wonderful, but if not, Thankyou for the help you have previously given me. Many Thanks Keren

Thought this might be useful for a few people. It's the 1851 census for a few Northants villages. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb*com/~bewickgenealogy/census/1851norhants.htm Crista

Emma Report 28 Sep 2004 22:42

Living in Sussex, this is a wonderful offer! Please could you take a look at the 1851 census for William Howlett. He was living in New Town, Peterborough at the time of his marriage in 1854 with Mary Ann Cole, if this is of any help. It may be a tall order, but all William Howletts in this area would be fantastic. Thanks again, Emma

Steph Report 29 Sep 2004 09:11

Will add you to the list Emma. You'll have to wait a few weeks, maybe, as I have loads, but I won't forget and will e-mail you direct if I find anything. Best wishes, Steph x

Thanks for your past help Steph. Can you try this one for me: Hepzibah Pendered, married in 1848 Wellingborough district. Not sure who he married and would like any census details that might help me link this chap to the Pendereds in my tree. Thanks a lot MaryBrooke

Steph

Steph Report 30 Sep 2004 14:51

Seen it on FreeBMD, Mary. Might be any district in Wellingborough, among about twenty villages, any ideas? Isn't Hepzibah a girls name??! Steph x

Mary

Mary Report 1 Oct 2004 17:04

Thought Hepzibah was a mans name - could be wrong ! My Pendereds came from Wymington but I know there were some from Wellingborough. Can't access FreeBMD due to Firewall. Thought there might be a census with he (or she) on so that I could pin point ther family members and see if there's a link to mine. Can you help with that? Be ever so grateful (Thanks for the birthday message) Mary

Mea

Mea Report 1 Oct 2004 19:10

Hi Steph, Mea Again, Wonder if you could do a couple of look-ups for me Please next time you go to the Library. I am still trying to find my Morton Family. Could you see if they have the 1841 census for Yardley Gobion. Have found that some time the name was spelt MorEton but most times Morton. Looking for Henry, b 1812 Grafton Regis. Have found he married 3 x, so wife could of been Ann or Mary, married 2 Ann's 1 Mary. Could you see if they are on the 1861 census, but try using the spelling MorEton........ The other family I am looking for would of been on the 1861-71 census. Harriett Roberts, b c1840 in Wales. Would of been living in Wolverton with her husband, have her on the 1881 census with chidren, but she was widowed by then, and can't figure out who her husband was or where he came from. Hope this is not too long winded. Mea.

Hi Steph I would like to take you up on your offer I have a Richard Taylor married to Ann - they were both born around 1720 Croughton and almost certainly married there too but not sure of date The children I know of are: John Richard Elizabeth I have this as april 1773 but it would make Ann in her 50's so not sure as to the accuracy here Ann died may 1780 but I don't know about Robert I am keen to find Anns maiden name and possible parents of Richard - Anything at all that would help Thanks Teresa
