Hi Margaret Can you possibly have a look on the 1871 census to see who else live there at the time? My great grandfather, Robert Marshall, born 1863, his parents were John Marshall (1816? of Ireland) he was as a mason, and Janet (nee McNaughtan) of 1832? of Rothesay. they live at the time was at 79 High Street, Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland. Hi Margaret, Thanks for responding so quickly! It's all very frustrating. Simon is listed in 1881 as being with his grandmother Hannah Goodman (should be Goodrum) & 2 uncles Albert & George but by 1891 Simon has disappeared & Hannah's aunt has joined them. The only thing is by 1901 some of the family suddenly become Goodwin & there has also been a tendency for them to be called Goodram. No wonder I have trouble locating them!!! In 1891 Hannah Goodrum was living in Stockton, Durham. Not sure if that helps at all. Thanks anyway for your valuable time & patience. I wonder if i could bother you for another? Hopefully a little easier. Again on the 1891 census could you check for a Sarah Griffin, age 74, b.Acle, NFK, & her 3 Grand-daughters who were living with her in the 1881 census namely-Jessie Amos age 29, b. Acle, NFK, Louisa Amos age 24 b.Acle, NFK & Geraldine Amos age 21 b.Acle, NFK (although she married & became a Dingle at some point). Margaret - Thank you so much for this information on the WILLIAMSON families of Workington. I am not sure at this stage if any of these are my great-grandparents, is there anything you can look at such as a births register to see if either of these families had a son, Robert, born in 1904. If so I am sure this will be them. Robert then went on to have a son, Brian, born in Workington c1933-1935. If any of this could be found it would be excellent for me. Thanks again. John.

Hi Margaret, Sorry to bother you again. You did a 1891 lookup for me earlier today for the page family, in south mimms. Would it be possible to have any occupations and the address they were at if possible please, so i can try to locate them in other records.
