Hi Darren I couldn't find Jane Weightman in 1871 and I couldn't find the family in 1891 or 1901.

Thanks for looking them up margaret, unfortunately, none of them really fit the bill. Emma crook has the right birth place, but the wrong age im quite sure she was in leckhampstead with her husband and children, as i have them on the 1881 but living in middlesex. But their youngest children were born leckhampstead in 1873.1869.1867 etc. Do you know who else was in the household please? But that thomas crook born leckhampstead living in croydon looks promising as his brothers were also in croydon in 1881. Do you have any other details for him, i.e if he was married and who else lived in the household? Again you very very much for taking the time to look, i do appreciate it ;-)) Tracey

Please can you help me? I am looking for John Derbyshire, (father of John Edward Derbyshire born on 11th August 1878 at 117 Surrey Street, Runcorn, Cheshire) John was born in 1844 Halton, Cheshire and his wife Hannah Shingler born 1843, Christened 22nd January 1843 in All Saints Church, Runcorn, Cheshire. They were married on 25th May 1863 in All Saints Runcorn. 1881 Census shows them living in Handley Street with their children. Also I am looking for John Debyshire's parents but can only find a John Darbyshire married 1844 to Ann Owen in All Saints Runcorn, Cheshire but I am not sure that this is them. I hope this isn't too confusing how I have written it down, but any help would be greatly appreciated...... Thanks Gaynor

Thanks anyway Margaret.... I have found a John Derbyshire Christened in Ringway, Cheshire 1845 - Father was James derbyshire and Mother Hannah. The thing is I have have found John Derbyshire born Runcorn, Cheshire 1844. I suppose its possible to have been Christened in another town, mabe they moved due to work for a short while, but its a longshot as the family have been found in Runcorn throughout the generations. Runcorn is nearer to Liverpool while Ringway is nearer to Manchester, its not as if it was just down the road. I think I am going to have to wait for the certificate.... how exasperating! Debora I just had a quick look on Ancestry BMD and there is a Gertrude Agnes Yates who was born in 1900 in Belper district (which does cover Smalley). I cannot find any deaths that could be her though.

nobody seems to know gertrude just lizzie (known as betty) and wilfred!!this isvery puzzling!!thanks for your help though at least i think im on the right track now!
