Did you check this and put Richard in your reply by mistake or have we looked for the wrong name? Sorry to be a pain but it would be helpful to know if they are or aren't there in 1861. Hi Elaine, I would be very grateful if you could do some look ups for me. First, Peter Dillon, brushmaker, living at 191 Deansgate in 1865 with wife Catherine. Would be very keen to find where they were in 1861 and if any children with them at that time. Second, Michael Logue, born c.1841, father also called Michael Logue but may be dead in 1861, living at 27 Dale St, Hulme in 1865. Elaine, i have found nearly all my brood around that time. The only one missing is Jane Hayes, born 1839. warrington. Could you check for her please. I have a feeling she may have married in 1860, with a different age and her husband,s place of birth, but that is only a guess. The 1841 works a treat and am slowly ploughing my way through it.(Jane is not with her parents in 1861. Her brothers married in Manchester) Many thanks and best wishes.

Hi Elaine, how wonderful of you to offer assistance like this. I migrated to Australia, from Chester, and accessing records is quite difficult. If it is at all possible could you try lookups on the following please? William Slater born 1836 at Ashton U Lyne, his wife Mary Slater born 1834 at West Leigh, they both appear in the 1871 census at Newton but I can't decipher the handwritten street name. They have two sons by 1871, looks like John aged 14 & James aged 19. George Heap born 1836 in Oldham, living at 10 Eden St. aged 45 in 1881 census. On his wedding cert. the father is stated as Colin Fitton. Any by that name would be nice, presume Oldham too. Thomas Swan(n) born 1854-55 at Manchester,parents William Swan(n) & Sarah, nee Martin Caroline Sykes born 1855 at Manchester, father Thomas Sykes.
