John got married to Julia Brannan in 1862, Elaine, so I should think he would be at home. We did have a problem with his age through the census takes, cos in the 1871 census he was 28 (his birthday was in January) and after that he seemed to knock 2 years off his age. John was in Ormskirk in 1871.

The only thing I have is the address on their son Johns birth cert...School place, Pembroke Street, Liverpool....does that help?

* Anne Ball * There are 14 James Walmsley's on the index between 40 -50 .... none are with a wife Mary. If you find any further info to narrow the search down ie: childrens names etc, I will have another search ..in case Mary had died ? I'm hopeing the name index will be updated soon. Elaine :-)

Hi Elaine, if you are not too busy would you look up a James Walmsley married to a Mary Ashton. They were married about 1840 and I suppose born 1810-1820, and had there son John in Liverpool. He was born in the Mount Pleasant sub district in 1842. I cannot find a marriage for Mary and James either so if you can help there I would be most grateful. Thanks, Anne.
