Hi Elaine Thankyou for this. I have them on the 1871 in County Durham. but no Alice or Elizabeth with them. I have looked on the modern maps and have'nt come across Holmes Green or Pennington. I was beggning to think it was in Cumbria // cumberland. Going to check now on Ulverston to find out where it is. If you find them on the 1861 Census I would love to recieve the image. Hello Elaine, Please look for WILLIAM (JOHN) LINDON or LINDEN, age 3 according to his marriage cert but I suspect he was younger. His father's name was JOHN. I don't know where he was born because I haven't been able to find him in a census (he was a mariner) but he married in Liverpool in 1882 so he may have been born there. I really appreciate your help because I'm well and truly stuck! Many thanks, Lilian
