hi kate- many thanks for this. i have a john booth who had 18 acres of land in 1861. the land was in turnpike road, drighlington, near bradford, west yorkshire. he died in 1865. on the 1871 census his wife elizabeth was still living on the farm on turnpike road, but only had 4 acres of land. she died in 1874 [aged 91 !]what happened to the rest of the land is a mystery. any help would be wonderfull, sue.[ i believe the land was obtained in 1767 by samuel booth- john's father]

Hello Kate, My great uncle ARTHUR FRANCIS died 29th November 1948 in Sheffield. He had a wife Lucy and one of his brothers Sidney registered the death. Any information regarding this gentleman would be gratefully received. Jane

Hello Kate, Thanks for your kind offer. Could you look up Thomas Faraday of Ingleton (West Riding of Yorkshire). He died in 1896. There was only one Faraday family in the area by that time. Very much appreciated! Hannah

Just to let you know if you go to the probate office it is in the Crown Court you can look at the wills and if you want to order it costs £5

Please can you look for John Edward Palfreyman born 1865 in Birkenhead and died after 1902 probably in the same place . He was a sailor in his youth but may have had the family jewellery business by then. His wife was Margaret and he had a daughter Winifred. Thanks.

Anybody got anything they want looked up on the National Probate Calendar 1858 - 1968? It will tell you whether somebody left a will, and if so where they lived and who the executors of their will were, and how much money they left. You will have to give me their name and the year they died and any other details that might help like the date of death if you have it, place of death, names of relatives, etc. I'm not planning another trip for a while, so no more requests please!
