Hi Claire Me again! Thanks for finding the Haxbys - sorted his name out - think it's Robert - my ggg grandfather so thanks for that (plus some other children I didn't know about!) I've had another look at Harriet - she's 54 on the 1871 (matches the age nearly that you have) and a widow for the 2nd time so David her first husband could possibly have died if she's showing as the head. Much appreciated Debby

Hi Claire Can you look at Richmond for me and see if there is a SIMON CHANDLER age about 51 yrs -- he could be an inn keeper. if so any of the family too. Many thanks Ann

Thanks for trying, Claire. Sorry to put you to so much trouble. I'll try to get some more information. Could you please do a couple of other lookups when you have the time? HANNAH PLOWS, father ROBERT. SAMUEL WATSON, father JOHN. Hannah and Samuel were married in Sherburn, Tadcaster in 1856 so presumably they were living there in 1851. many thanks, Lilian

Hi Lilian, Im really stuggling to find this place where Mary was born, ive had another look at the census for her and it looks like C.... Ward but i dont think it says Clayton. Ive gone through all the areas of Wakefield and there is nothing that resembles it at all. Ive checked Doncaster and Barnsley as well and it doesnt show on there as well. Regards, Claire

Hi Claire, I don't know where Claton Bart is either. It was where Mary Goodyear said she was born. She married in Wakefield so I guess it wasn't too far away. Presumably it was mistranscribed. I've just found a Clayton which is 13 miles from Wakefield, 8 miles from Doncaster and Barnsley. When you have time could you please have another look? Thanks, Lilian

Hi Lilian, I will look for your John Cawthrow for you but where is Claton Bart? Ive looked on the Wakefield disk and no area called that. Ive googled the name and it doesnt bring up anything at all. Glad you got the Alverthorpe Goodyear census images. Im just over the moon now 1901 Yorkshire is on ancestry so can finally get a little futher with my lot as well. Regards, Claire

Hi Claire, You kindly did a lookup for me in Alverthorpe. There was a Mary Goodyear there who's maiden name I believe was CAWTHROW. According to the census info, she was born in what looks like Claton Bart which must be in the Wakefield area. Could you possibly look for her father, JOHN CAWTHROW, there in 1851? He may have been a miner. There are various spelling variations of Cawthrow. Many thanks, Lilian

Hi Debby, Ive got your Haxby's. Hubby is there and alot more siblings. Saved the image for you, let me know your email address and i will send it for you. Have had a quick look through Eccleshill and havnt found a David Taylor there but there was a household that had a Harriet Taylor as head aged 33 and with some children. Could she be yours? Regards, Claire

Hi Claire Could you please look up Ripley in N Yorks for me. Francis J Haxby aged 33 with hopefully a husband (widow by 1871). Possibly 3 siblings William R aged 12, Ralph aged 3 and Frances A aged 1 - could be more siblings. Also if you've time - Eccleshill in Bradford - David and Harriett Taylor aged approx 34. Thanks in advance Debby
