Margaret I do indeedy...not my direct line but with these ones I've made an exception! Married in Liverpool 14th August 1888. Edwin James Hawkridge aged 19 Railway Porter Address at time of Marriage Liverpool (convenient!). Father Samuel Hawkridge Joiner/Carpenter (all that is correct) Adelaide Elizabeth Rowe aged 17 No Occupation Address at time of Marriage Liverpool (again, convenient!). Father Thomas Rowe Driver (Deceased)...oh it gets better! Hi Rosemary Come and join the fun...I've had no alcohol but would like some if you can work out how to e mail it to me! Lou |

Hi Margaret Can't say anything springs to mind as anywhere mistranscribed as that but someone may have a bright suggestion. This couple are baffling me....I have my theories, I need someone to find Adelaide Rowe prior to her marriage to Edwin to blow them out of the water. Probably both born Derby, married Liverpool, lived all their married lives in Leicester. I've looked all over and, as I said earlier, the only Adelaide Rowe roughly the right age and county, was born Mansfield in 1874 and died before her 1st birthday Lou |

Martin said that the 1891 said that she was born in Derby. I have magnified the 1891 as much as I can. It looks like Miniming, Lancs. I cant find that on a map. I'll keep searching |

Margaret THIS is my problem! Her name before marriage is supposedly Adelaide Rowe but the only one I can find ANYWHERE died before her 1st birthday! Her father is supposedly called Thomas and is a driver What did he delete? Lou |

She's from Derby, Derbyshire on the 1901 but I'm not sure about the 1891. It looks to me like Lancs, but transcribed as Leicestershire, Birmingham?????????????/ |

Am in the middle of what can only be described as an 'interesing puzzle'. Could someone please have a look at both the 1891 and 1901 images for EDWIN J HAWKRIDGE. He appears to be born 1870 Derby on one and in 1866 in Birmingham on the other but its definitely the same person...at least I'm sure it is! However, he's not my problem....the wife is! Can you tell me if you can decipher where she claims to be born on both census? Thanks Lou |
