Hi Joan, Many thanks for your kind offer! I found a marriage on the Pallots Index for who i hope is my 5xG Grandparents. I would appreciate it if you could have a look on the actual parish register, as i'm hoping that there might be some additional info to confirm it's them. Details from Pallots index: John Thurlow married Mary Ann Pearsall, 1829 St Andrew, Holborn, London. Thanks for your help and time, Pippa |

Hi Joan This is a really kind offer, thank you. I am looking for the birth records of Louisa Caroline Holden born about 1822 in Lambeth I think. I only say I think because on the 1851,91 and1901 census her birthplace is given as Lambeth but in 1881 it was given as Bethnal Green. Louisa's father was Thomas Holden Cordwainer but I have no other info so anything you find would be gratefully received. Thanks again Frances |

Thank you for the kind offer. I am wondering if you could search for any children born to Lionel and Harriet (nee Taylor) Ferguson, from around 1829 when they married (not sure where) to 1841. My ggrandfather Robert was born then and it was in St.George in the East district (St. John's) Any info would be great. thank you |

What a kind and generous offer!! If you are able to help I am looking for information on my great grandfather. His name was Albert Goodge and I believe that he was a patient at Cane Hill Mental Asylum in Coulsdon. Here are the details from a2a: Public Health Department: MENTAL HEALTH Registers of patients admitted to LCC asylums - ref. LCC/PH/MENT/4 FILE - Lists of patients admitted, died and recommended for discharge, Cane Hill Asylum - ref. LCC/PH/MENT/4/13 - date: August 1916 to March 1928 I believe that he was admitted sometime between 1919 and 1922. Most likely years are 1920/21. Thank you very much for your help, Lucia :-) |

Hi Joan, If you have time! I am looking for Augustus Henshaw Born London C1848 Fathers name John a Druggist. I have quite a lot about a John William Henshaw Chemist. Married Sarah Elwin London 1840 St. Dunstans, Stepney, Living at 29 Little Bell Alley. Found on 1841 census at this address and in 1841 directory a chemist & druggist. Children Mary Elizabeth 1845, Sarah Emily 1851, Charles Mortimer 1854, Alice Pitchford 1856 All christened St. Dunstans 1859, William Percy 1860, christened 1860 all living at 3 Oxford Street. but no Augustus! No trace of family on 1861 at this address. Am I Barking up the wrong tree? 1841 & 1852 directories also lists Richard Pitchford Henshaw Chemist. Any info to link or otherwise will be greatly appreciated. The brickwall is getting higher! Graham |

Peter Unfortunately the bmd references are not applicable for searches at the LMA. I’m happy to trawl through some churches in the Fulham area for the June qtr of 1906 to try to find the marriage you want, but if you need a quick result it might be best to use the reference you have and order the certificate. Hi Gwen Yes it is the right area but there are an awful lot of records and very few are name indexed. Could you be a bit more specific? I’m happy to trawl for a marriage or baptism if you can give me an idea of the church or a time span. Joan |

Heather, my brain’s not working properly at the moment ! 1. Is it just the index at the FRC that you want checked between 1857/58 for the marriage of James William Hanson to Mary Ann Wyles? Or, as the first child was born St.Leonard Shoreditch, do you want me to look through the marriages there for those years. (Do you have James on the 1851 census?) 2. I’ll do my best with the Oct qtr 1916 marriage. Joan |

Hi Paula I’m not sure if they have that information at the LMA but I think you can purchase the 1831 census for Marylebone from S&N Genealogy. Joan |

Hello Margaret The death index isn’t held at the LMA and I’m not sure that they have burials for St.James, Edmonton there but if they do I'm happy to look for William Poole between 1888-1891 for you. Joan |

Hi Alan The registers of St.Anne, Soho, are at the LMA and I can check those for you, but there's probably better coverage of Soho at Westminster Archives. You might want to see if anyone is visiting there. Joan |

Hello Dawn To clarify the details of a birth you need to get the birth certificate. I’d be happy to search for a baptism if you can suggest a church. I can trawl some Islington churches for the Jun qtr 1906 to try to find the marriage you want but if you want a quicker result you might want to order the cert instead. Joan |

Hiya Could you see if you can find a marriage between Charles Norval Michelin and Mary Ann Varrell or Farrell. There first child was born in 1831, so I would presume it was just before then. Also all the children were born in Marylebone if that is any help. I have all the childrens baptism records and they were baptised at St Mary's in Marylebone. thank you Siobhan |
