Madeline, There are several possible records but no definite ones. I see immigration records for W Hodgson who would have been born in the early 1800's but there are no images. Couple of Frederick Hodgson's but no age or place of departure. Again, a few maybe's on the census records. Is there any other information you can provide that could narrow down the possibles? Rose |

Hiya, I have two brothers called Frederick and Wellington Hodgson who immigrated to America. As far as I know (still waiting for a relative to confirm), they would have been born in the early 1800s. Wellington is so named as his sister (or cousin, I don't have my notes on me at the moment) was born at the Battle of Vimiera during the Peninsular Campaign in Portugal, and the Duke of Wellington that commanded the British troops there was her Godfather. Are there any records you can find of these two entering the US? I'd be really grateful for your help. Mads xxxx |

Kate, I believe I found the immigration record for Euphemia arriving in 1879. It has her age about 10 years off but the rest of the info matches. I noticed on the 1880 she is living with her daughter Margaret. Margaret and Richard Money arrived in 1855. I have saved the images for both arrivals. Please send me your email address. Rose |

Hello again Rosemary Thanks for checking for Mary anyway. Ireland was Euphemia's maiden name (Sorry, senior moment on my part ;) She married William Armstrong in December 1827 in Fife. I think she was born in Fife in December 1801 and I have her death in Utah in 1887. Apologies for not putting this on before. Hope I haven't wasted much of your time. Thanks again Kate |

Kate, Didn't find anything for Mary Ford. Any idea when Euphemia was born? Was Ireland her married name? I am not finding her on the 1880 census. |

Hi Rosemary I am looking for Mary Ford, nee Neale , emigrated after April 1871, died 18 June 1892, Wood Cross, Davis, Utah. Mary was I think, born in Arnold Notts abt 1803. I have her in the 1880US Census in Utah. She was married to William Ford but I don't know if he travelled with her. There may be other members of the Ford family also. Also: Euphemia Ireland, born Fife, Scotland, died Spanish Fork, Utah Nov 1887. Not sure when she went over I'm afraid. Many thanks for checking. I hope I've given you enough info to do your search. Kate :) |

Judith, Wasn't able to find George on the Immigration records. Most death records are not published on line. Go to the USGENWEB site, select New York State, then West Chester Co for Yonkers. It will tell you what years are available and how to obtain a certificate. Rose |

Christa, On the US Immigration record databases on Ancestry, some are called lists, records or indexes. I'm not sure the differences are. Rose |

Margaret I noticed on the Ellis Island record she was headed for Des Moines IA but there is no sign of her there or anywhere else. It's possible she married by 1920 or went elsewhere. Sorry Rose |

Janice, If they came after the war then it would be too late for census records (only up to 1930) I found the following death records: Name: Norval F. Dine SSN: 363-24-1111 Last Residence: 49418 Grandville, Kent, Michigan Born: 8 Oct 1924 Died: 17 Mar 2004 State (Year) SSN issued: Michigan (Before 1951 ) Name: Harry Brassington SSN: 363-32-5464 Last Residence: 49504 Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States of America Born: 25 Mar 1919 Died: Jun 1986 State (Year) SSN issued: Michigan (Before 1951 ) Some may still be alive since they are not appearing on the Soc Sec death index which was recently updated to include death in Nov 2004. Agnes Brassington 1372 Bent Tree Ct Hudsonville, MI 49426 (616) 667 - 0228 That's all I was able to find. Rose |
