Hi Joan I am sorry but I do not think I can help with the birthplace of Miss Clemison as I do not have access to the 1851 Yorkshire census. The discs I have for 1851 are for Oxfordshire. I Had a look at the sample of 1851 on Ancestry and nothing there for Clemison but it is only a 10% sample of the entire census,so you would need to be very lucky to find a rellie on that. Regards Mary

Oxfordshire 1841 census Hi Mary, I am looking for James Wyatt born abt 1812 in Banbury, Oxon so would be abt 29 on the 1841 census. Father's name is John Wyatt. Also Hannah Mitchell born abt 1821 possibly in Banbury (don't expect you to search the whole census) father John Mitchell. Regards Ros.

Hi Mary, I am trying to find the correct birthplace of Elizabeth Ann Clemison. According to the I.G.I. she was christened on 20/08/1849 in Romanby, Northallerton, Nth. Yorks.. Now I know that is definitely her date of birth as I have an old family birthday book with her name entered on that date. The 1861 census gives her place of birth as Northallerton as well. Thereafter every census says she was born in Thirsk, Nth. Yorks. She married George Henry Alexander in 1874. Could you possibly find her on the 1851 census please? Thanks, Joan Thompson

Dear Mary Thank you very much for taking the time to do such a thorough look up for me. I had no idea James had married a second time, and your census info gives an easy time frame to find when Penelope died. Thanks also for the advice on tracking the IGI - I've been tracking my family tree for some years but am fairly new to using the internet for. This site has been a great help! thanks and best wishes Lesley

Mary, I live in Wollongong, just south of Sydney. Many miles from Perth!!! I don't think the Berry family would show up on the 1891 as Berry. Mary remarried after William died in 1888. I think they relocated to Birmingham as the new husband, Thomas Churchill was working there. Thanks again for your help. Susan

Hi Sue Glad you got the image OK. I have had a look at the 1891 census and cannot find the Berry family either by name search or by checking the 1881 address. It must be the spaceship again!! Where are you in Australia?I have family in Perth and have spent two great holidays there. If you need more lookups get in touch. Regards Mary

Hi Maz First of all I have to say that I do not know of a Wallington in Oxfordshire,I think it is probably WATLINGTON,an enumerator not familiar with an Oxfordshire accent(no one who is a true Oxonian pronounces Ts) could easily mistake WaTlington for WaLlington. Having said that I looked at Watlington on the 1841 census and did not find anyone called Wilcox. He could of course have been born in one of the Villages around Watlington or maybe there was some place back then called Wallington, but nothing comes up on the disc when I search by place, which is the only search available. Sorry!!! Mary

Hi Lesley 1861 census Living in Brize Norton James Nunney 75 Head Grocer and Quarryman b Brize Norton 1851 Living in Brize Norton James Nunney 65 Head Slatter and Plasterer employing 4 men Ann Nunney 45 Wife b Brize Norton 1841 Living in Brize Norton James Nunney 56 Slatter b Oxon Penelope Nunney 50 b Oxon I had a look at the IGI on the LDS site and found the following: James Nunney married Penelope Hanwell in Brize Norton in 1807. I would think it safe to assume that she was born in Brize Norton as marriages normally took place in the Brides parish. Have a look at the IGI on the LDS site for births for James and Penelope as the marriage is there you may get lucky. Good luck Mary

Dear Mary Please could you look up Brize Norton in the Oxfordshire census for 1861 for me. I am trying to find out more about James & Penelope Nunney who should be in Brize Norton at the time of the census because James died there sometime in 1861 (hopefully not before the census!). Don't worry if he's not there, but I would like to know if Penelope is because all I have at the moment is her maiden name and knowing her age & place of birth would be a great help in finding out more. Their children I know about are Mary (b.1809) Elizabeth (b.1815) & Letitia (b.1819) but I don't expect to find them living at home by then. thank you very much for your help. Lesley

Benjanin Sorry but Marsh Baldon is not included in the Oxon 1861 census. I believe it will be in the 1861 Berkshire census as at that time it was in Berkshire. Mary
