Hi again Lorraine Thanks to help from another kind member I have found that I have a Margaret M. Arthur who would have been a gggAunt on my maternal side. She partnered Thomas Gray and was born in Ireland around 1832. On 1881 Census for Blantyre, Scotland she is listed as being 49, but on 1871 is listed as being 35 years, with a daughter, by Thomas, who is aged 15 years. Any help would be great.

Hi Lorraine I noticed there are apprentiship records on this site and I wonder if you could look up the apprentiship records for a James Renwick he apparrantley served an apprentiship as a Chainmaker (could be blacksmith) in either Gateshead or Newcastle somewhere in the 1840's I would think as born in 1832. Any help would be appreciated. Also could you look up the birth of an Ann Renwick about 1829 in gateshead Durham. Many thanks Maureen

Hi Lorrraine Many thanks for looking I thought I might have been able to trace James throught Apprentice records to verify I have the right one. The Ann I am looking for was defintely born in 1828/29, another child was born in 1835, unless age is wrong. This family is becoming more and more confusing, think james's father married twice but cannot prove it so far. Thanks again maureen

Hi Lorraine

I am new to this so have only just seen your thread and even though it was posted a while ago thought it was worth a try. I am trying to find Joseph O'Donnell who may be my grandfather. He was born in approx 1862 in scotland (govan i think) his fathers name was Edward and his mothers Margaret (dont know surname) He had brothers and sisters possible names given to me were John 1841 Ann and Francis 1848 Anne1851 Edward 1853. Any info you can give would help i.e. dob parents marriage.

many thanks Marie
